Rhea-AI Filing Summary

Mobia Medical, Inc. reported third-quarter 2026 revenue of $15.6 million, up 73% from $9.0 million a year earlier, with growth attributed to broader adoption of the Vivistim System and increased product unit sales. Gross profit was $13.0 million, up 81% from $7.2 million, and gross margin was 83.2%, compared with 79.6% a year earlier.

Operating expenses were $31.5 million, up 71% from $18.4 million, reflecting continued investment in the commercial organization; the increase included $2.2 million in additional stock-based compensation expense. Net loss was $17.3 million, versus $11.4 million a year earlier. Loss per share was $0.52 versus $13.31; Mobia said the per-share improvement primarily reflected a significant increase in weighted-average common shares outstanding after the IPO and related conversion of redeemable convertible preferred stock and convertible notes into common stock. Cash and cash equivalents totaled $160.7 million as of September 30, 2026.

Mobia raised its full-year 2026 revenue guidance to $57.0 million to $57.5 million from $54.0 million to $56.0 million, projecting 78% to 79% growth over 2025. Average active territories were 40, compared with 22.5 a year earlier. Mobia announced the inclusion of paired VNS in the updated 2026 AHA Guideline for stroke recovery.

How this balance works

Rhea-AI gives every point it takes from this document a weight. Minor counts 1, Moderate 3 and Major 9, so one Major point outweighs several Minor ones. The bar adds up the weights on each side, and when neither side holds more than 65% of the total the balance reads Mixed.

It reads the document as published, with the same rules for every company, and it does not look at what the market expected or at how the stock traded, so a point can be objectively good on a day the stock falls.

Rhea-AI Sentiment measures something else, the tone of the wording.

stock-based compensation expense financial
"$2.2 million in additional stock-based compensation expense"
Stock-based compensation expense is the value that a company records when it gives employees or executives shares or options to buy shares as part of their pay. It matters because it shows the true cost of paying employees this way, which can affect the company's profits and how investors see its financial health.
weighted-average common shares outstanding financial
"increase in weighted-average common shares outstanding following the Company’s IPO"
Weighted-average common shares outstanding is the average number of a company’s common shares that were available during a reporting period, adjusted for shares issued, repurchased, or converted so the count reflects time-weighted changes. Think of it like averaging how many slices of a pie were on the table over a meal: it makes per-share measures such as earnings per share meaningful and comparable by accounting for changes in the share count, which affects investor ownership and valuation.
redeemable convertible preferred stock financial
"conversion of its outstanding redeemable convertible preferred stock"
A redeemable convertible preferred stock is a special class of company shares that combines three features: it pays priority dividends like a safer, higher-ranking share; it can be converted into regular common shares so holders can join in upside; and it can be redeemed, meaning the company can buy it back for cash. For investors this matters because it offers a mix of downside protection and potential upside, but can change ownership stakes (dilution) and cash obligations depending on whether it’s converted or redeemed.
vagus nerve stimulation medical
"combines targeted vagus nerve stimulation with functional movement"
Vagus nerve stimulation is a medical therapy that uses mild electrical pulses to activate the vagus nerve, a major nerve that helps control heart rate, digestion, mood and inflammation; think of it as a pacemaker that nudges the body’s internal communication lines. Investors care because the approach is delivered via devices or wearable systems that require regulatory approval, reimbursement and clinical evidence—factors that directly affect market size, revenue potential and company risk.

“This quarter, we delivered our strongest results yet. Revenue growth of 73% reflects the strength of our commercial execution and the predictable nature of our patient funnel,” said Richard Foust, President and Chief Executive Officer of Mobia Medical. “Additionally, we were pleased to announce the inclusion of paired VNS in the updated AHA Stroke guidelines for 2026, serving as validation of our evidence-based approach to stroke recovery and further recognition of how Vivistim® Paired VNS™ Therapy can redefine what is possible for stroke survivors. With our continued commercial traction and expanding territory footprint we are making substantial progress in generating greater access and awareness for this profoundly underserved patient population.”

Third Quarter 2026 Financial Results

Revenue increased by 73%, to $15.6 million for the third quarter of 2026, compared to $9.0 million for the third quarter of 2025. The growth was driven by broader adoption of the Vivistim System and increased product unit sales.

Gross profit increased by 81%, to $13.0 million for the third quarter of 2026, compared to $7.2 million for the third quarter of 2025. Gross margin was 83.2% for the third quarter of 2026, compared to 79.6% for the third quarter of 2025. The increase was primarily due to lower freight and tariff costs as a percentage of revenue and lower inventory write-offs compared to the prior year period.

Operating expenses increased 71% to $31.5 million for the third quarter of 2026, compared to $18.4 million for the third quarter of 2025, reflecting continued investment in the Company’s commercial organization to support revenue growth. The increase was primarily driven by higher personnel-related expenses, including increased headcount and higher sales commissions, as well as $2.2 million in additional stock-based compensation expense. Operating expenses declined as a percentage of revenue.

Net loss was $17.3 million, or $0.52 per share for the third quarter of 2026, compared to a net loss of $11.4 million, or $13.31 per share for the third quarter of 2025. The year-over-year improvement in net loss per share primarily reflects the significant increase in weighted-average common shares outstanding following the Company’s IPO and the related conversion of its outstanding redeemable convertible preferred stock and convertible notes into common stock.

As of September 30, 2026, cash and cash equivalents totaled $160.7 million.

2026 Outlook

The Company now expects revenue for the full year 2026 to be in the range of $57.0 million to $57.5 million, representing growth of 78% to 79% over the full year 2025, compared to the prior range of $54.0 million to $56.0 million.
