Sentiment and the balance of points

Rhea-AI Sentiment reads the wording of the document, how positive or negative its language is on a 1 to 5 scale. The balance of points shown with the takes weighs what the document actually discloses, so the two can disagree, for example when a trial that missed its main goal is described in upbeat language.

Rhea-AI Filing Summary

OGE Energy Corp. reported consolidated third-quarter 2026 net income of $316.2 million, or $1.52 per diluted share, compared with $231.3 million, or $1.14 per diluted share, in third quarter 2025. Its regulated electric subsidiary, Oklahoma Gas and Electric Company (OG&E), contributed net income of $320.9 million, or $1.54 per diluted share, versus $242.9 million, or $1.20, a year earlier. OGE Energy attributed OG&E’s higher net income to stronger sales during significantly warmer weather, partly offset by higher income tax expense; other operations recorded a $4.7 million loss compared with an $11.6 million loss.

OG&E’s third-quarter operating revenues were $1,182.8 million, compared with $1,045.0 million in 2025. OGE Energy said warmer-than-normal weather led it to expect to exceed its original 2026 earnings guidance and now projects consolidated earnings of $2.62 to $2.68 per average diluted share, assuming normal weather for the remainder of the year. For the nine months ended September 30, 2026, OGE Energy reported net income of $482.7 million, compared with $401.5 million in the same period of 2025.

How this balance works

Rhea-AI gives every point it takes from this document a weight. Minor counts 1, Moderate 3 and Major 9, so one Major point outweighs several Minor ones. The bar adds up the weights on each side, and when neither side holds more than 65% of the total the balance reads Mixed.

It reads the document as published, with the same rules for every company, and it does not look at what the market expected or at how the stock traded, so a point can be objectively good on a day the stock falls.

Rhea-AI Sentiment measures something else, the tone of the wording.

"Weighted-average cost of energy per kilowatt-hour"

"expressed as cooling degree days"
Cooling degree days measure how much and for how long daily temperatures exceed a comfort baseline (commonly 65°F), by adding up the degrees above that baseline across days. Think of it as a thermometer-based tally of extra heat: the higher the number, the greater the likely need for air conditioning. Investors use this to estimate energy consumption, utility demand, HVAC sales, and weather-driven revenue or cost swings.

"Allowance for borrowed funds used during construction"
Allowance for borrowed funds used during construction is the accounting practice of adding the interest cost of loans taken out to build a long-term asset to the asset’s recorded value instead of expensing that interest immediately. For investors this matters because it boosts reported asset size and can smooth or inflate short-term earnings by turning cash interest payments into a non‑cash capital cost—similar to rolling the cost of building a house into its purchase price rather than treating payments as everyday expenses.

(A)
Degree days are calculated as follows: The high and low degrees of a particular day are added together and then averaged. If the calculated average is above 65 degrees, then the difference between the calculated average and 65 is expressed as cooling degree days, with each degree of difference equaling one cooling degree day. If the calculated average is below 65 degrees, then the difference between the calculated average and 65 is expressed as heating degree days, with each degree of difference equaling one heating degree day. The daily calculations are then totaled for the particular reporting period. The calculation of heating and cooling degree normal days is based on a 30-year average and weighted on a jurisdictional split.
