mucoadhesive polymer technology technical
"The patent application covers Polyrizon’s proprietary Trap & Target™ (T&T) mucoadhesive polymer technology platform for nasal drug delivery."
nasal drug delivery medical
"Nasal drug delivery has emerged as an increasingly attractive administration route for a wide range of therapeutic compounds."
Nasal drug delivery is a way to give medicines through the nose, using sprays, drops or inhaled powders so the drug is absorbed through the nasal lining instead of swallowed or injected. It matters to investors because this route can produce faster effects, better patient convenience and lower development or marketing hurdles for some products, potentially increasing a drug’s commercial appeal and competitive edge — think of it like delivering a package straight to the front door rather than routing it through a warehouse.
intellectual property portfolio financial
"The publication of the patent application represents a significant milestone in the Company's strategy to strengthen its intellectual property portfolio."
A collection of a company’s legally recognized creations and rights—such as patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets and licensing agreements—that together protect its products, brands and technologies. Think of it as the company’s toolbox or recipe box: some items keep competitors out, some can be rented or sold, and some enable unique products. For investors, the breadth and strength of this portfolio affect future revenue potential, competitive position and legal risk, so it influences valuation and investment decisions.
European Patent Office (EPO) regulatory
"the European Patent Office (EPO) has completed the technical preparations for the publication of the Company's European patent application."
A regional patent authority that examines and grants patents for inventions across multiple European countries, the European Patent Office (EPO) decides whether new products, processes or technologies meet legal standards for protection. Investors care because EPO grants can create exclusive market rights like a ’temporary monopoly,’ helping a company protect revenue, justify higher valuations, and reduce competition risk—similar to locking a valuable invention behind a gate.
forward-looking statements regulatory
"This press release contains “forward-looking statements” within the meaning of the Private Securities Litigation Reform Act of 1995 and other securities laws."
Forward-looking statements are predictions or plans that companies share about what they expect to happen in the future, like estimating sales or profits. They matter because they help investors understand a company's outlook, but since they are based on guesses and assumptions, they can sometimes be wrong.
pre-clinical development medical
"its additional technology, which is in an earlier stage of pre-clinical development, that is focused on nasal delivery of active pharmaceutical ingredients."

Polyrizon Receives Notice of European Patent Publication for Innovative Mucoadhesive Nasal Drug Delivery Technology

Raanana, Israel, June 10, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Polyrizon Ltd. (Nasdaq: PLRZ) (the “Company” or “Polyrizon”), a development-stage biotech company specializing in the development of innovative intranasal hydrogels, today announced that the European Patent Office (EPO) has completed the technical preparations for the publication of the Company's European patent application entitled “Mucoadhesive Polymers for Nasal Drug Delivery.” The application was published under European publication number EP 4751737. The patent application covers Polyrizon’s proprietary Trap & Target™ (T&T) mucoadhesive polymer technology platform for nasal drug delivery. The technology is designed to enhance the interaction between pharmaceutical formulations and the nasal mucosa, potentially increasing formulation retention, improving drug absorption, and enabling more efficient delivery of active pharmaceutical ingredients through the nasal route.

Nasal drug delivery has emerged as an increasingly attractive administration route for a wide range of therapeutic compounds, offering rapid onset of action, non-invasive administration, and the potential to bypass gastrointestinal degradation and first-pass metabolism. Polyrizon’s technology is intended to address one of the key challenges of nasal administration, limited residence time within the nasal cavity, through the development of advanced mucoadhesive polymer systems.

The publication of the patent application represents a significant milestone in the Company's strategy to strengthen its intellectual property portfolio supporting future pharmaceutical applications and collaborations in the nasal drug delivery field.

"The forthcoming publication of this European patent application marks an important step in strengthening our position in the growing nasal drug delivery market," said Tomer Izraeli, Chief Executive Officer of Polyrizon. "We believe our proprietary mucoadhesive polymer technology has the potential to improve the performance of nasal drug delivery systems across a broad range of therapeutic applications. Expanding our patent portfolio remains a key component of our strategy as we continue to advance innovative solutions for pharmaceutical partners and future product opportunities."

The patent application will continue through the European examination process. If granted, the patent could provide intellectual property protection across multiple European markets, further supporting Polyrizon’s potential commercialization and partnering efforts in the pharmaceutical sector.

About Polyrizon

Polyrizon is a development stage biotech company specializing in the development of innovative medical device hydrogels delivered in the form of nasal sprays, which form a thin hydrogel-based shield containment barrier in the nasal cavity that can provide a barrier against viruses and allergens from contacting the nasal epithelial tissue. Polyrizon’s proprietary Capture and Contain TM, or C&C, hydrogel technology, comprised of a mixture of naturally occurring building blocks, is delivered in the form of nasal sprays, and potentially functions as a “biological mask” with a thin shield containment barrier in the nasal cavity. Polyrizon are further developing certain aspects of our C&C hydrogel technology such as the bioadhesion and prolonged retention at the nasal deposition site for intranasal delivery of drugs. Polyrizon refers to its additional technology, which is in an earlier stage of pre-clinical development, that is focused on nasal delivery of active pharmaceutical ingredients, or APIs, as Trap and Target, or T&T.
