"Protolabs Appoints Sam Ramahi as Chief Operations Officer"
forward-looking statements regulatory
"Statements contained in this press release regarding matters that are not historical or current facts are “forward-looking statements”"
Forward-looking statements are predictions or plans that companies share about what they expect to happen in the future, like estimating sales or profits. They matter because they help investors understand a company's outlook, but since they are based on guesses and assumptions, they can sometimes be wrong.
The Private Securities Litigation Reform Act of 1995 regulatory
"“forward-looking statements” within the meaning of The Private Securities Litigation Reform Act of 1995"
A U.S. law that changed the rules for private lawsuits over alleged misstatements in securities, making it harder to file weak or purely speculative claims while preserving genuine investor rights. Think of it as tightening the gate for complaints: plaintiffs now must show specific facts to get a case started, companies get limited protection for forward-looking statements, and procedures for choosing lead plaintiffs and calculating damages are clarified — all of which affect litigation risk and company valuations.
operational excellence technical
"driving operational excellence across safety, quality, delivery, and cost"
Operational excellence is the ongoing pursuit of performing business activities in the most efficient, effective, and consistent way possible. It involves streamlining processes, reducing waste, and maintaining high quality to improve overall performance. For investors, achieving operational excellence signals a company’s ability to manage resources well, adapt to changes, and deliver reliable results over time.
Lean technical
"experience across manufacturing, operational excellence, Lean, Six Sigma, quality, and customer experience"
Lean describes an approach that minimizes waste, keeps costs and staffing low, and focuses resources on the most productive activities; for a company this means streamlined processes, tight spending controls, and avoiding unnecessary complexity. Investors care because a lean operation can protect cash flow, boost profit margins, and make a business more resilient in downturns — like a smaller, well-packed vehicle using less fuel to travel farther on the same tank.
Six Sigma technical
"experience across manufacturing, operational excellence, Lean, Six Sigma, quality, and customer experience"
Six Sigma is a disciplined approach to improving business processes by measuring and cutting defects and variability so outputs are nearly perfect; think of tuning a factory line or kitchen to deliver the same high-quality product every time. It matters to investors because reducing mistakes and waste lowers costs, improves efficiency and customer trust, and can boost profit margins and predictability of cash flow over time.
