On July 23, 2025, The Southern Company (the “Company”) filed a Current Report on Form 8-K (the “Original 8-K”) reporting the election of Mr. John M. Turner, Jr. to its Board of Directors (the “Board”). At the time of filing the Original 8-K, Board committee assignments for Mr. Turner had not been determined.
The Company is filing this Amendment No. 1 to the Original 8-K to report that, on February 16, 2026, the Board appointed Mr. Turner to the Finance Committee and the Operations, Environmental and Safety Committee, effective immediately.
