Rhea-AI Filing Summary

Treace Medical Concepts, Inc. (TMCI) reported third-quarter 2026 revenue of $48.3 million, down 4% from $50.2 million a year earlier. Net loss narrowed 23% to $12.6 million, or $0.19 per share, from $16.3 million, or $0.26 per share. Adjusted EBITDA was $0.3 million versus a $2.6 million loss. Gross margin was 79.5%, compared with 79.1%, and operating expenses fell 10% to $49.9 million. Treace also reported double-digit procedure-volume growth. Revenue declined mainly as sales mix shifted toward lower-priced minimally invasive products and fewer bunion procedure kits were sold; excluding sales to stocking distributors, bunion kit volume increased and revenue grew mid-single digits.

For full-year 2026, the company updated revenue guidance to $206 million to $210 million, representing a 3% to 1% decline compared with 2025, and expects an Adjusted EBITDA loss of $1 million to $2 million, versus its prior $3 million to $5 million loss range. It reiterated an expectation for approximately 50% lower full-year cash usage than in 2025. Year-to-date cash usage was reduced 53%, or $9.7 million, versus the same 2025 period; cash, cash equivalents and marketable securities totaled $39.8 million as of September 30, 2026. The guidance assumes continued case-volume growth and improving year-over-year revenue growth rates.

How this balance works

Rhea-AI gives every point it takes from this document a weight. Minor counts 1, Moderate 3 and Major 9, so one Major point outweighs several Minor ones. The bar adds up the weights on each side, and when neither side holds more than 65% of the total the balance reads Mixed.

It reads the document as published, with the same rules for every company, and it does not look at what the market expected or at how the stock traded, so a point can be objectively good on a day the stock falls.

Rhea-AI Sentiment measures something else, the tone of the wording.

At September 30, Treace reported $39.8 million in cash, cash equivalents and marketable securities alongside $56,264 thousand of long-term debt. Its existing credit facility provides up to an additional $115 million of borrowing capacity subject to conditions, so this is potential financing rather than cash already reported on hand.

Adjusted EBITDA financial
"Adjusted EBITDA increased by $2.9 million to $0.3 million"
Adjusted EBITDA is a way companies measure how much money they make from their core operations, like running a business, by removing certain costs or income that aren’t part of regular business activities. It helps investors see how well a company is doing without distractions from unusual expenses or gains, making it easier to compare companies or track performance over time.
gross margin financial
"Gross margin was 79.5% in the third quarter of 2026"
Gross margin is the difference between how much money a company makes from selling its products and how much it costs to produce them, expressed as a percentage of sales. It shows how efficiently a company is turning sales into profit before other expenses like marketing or salaries. Higher gross margin means the company keeps more money from each sale, which is a good sign of financial health.
available-for-sale marketable securities financial
"Purchases of available-for-sale marketable securities"
Available-for-sale marketable securities are financial investments a company holds that can be sold relatively quickly—such as stocks, bonds or short-term notes—but are not part of its core operations. They matter to investors because they represent spare cash that can be converted to funds or used to smooth short-term needs, while fluctuations in their market value can affect a company’s reported capital and future earnings when sold; think of them as a readily sellable reserve in a household’s emergency jar.

Use of Non-GAAP Financial Measures

To supplement the financial results presented in accordance with GAAP, this earnings release presents Adjusted EBITDA, which the Company defines as net loss before depreciation and amortization expense, interest income, interest expense, taxes, share-based compensation expense, acquisition-related costs, restructuring costs, customer credit loss, litigation costs, and debt extinguishment loss. Non-GAAP financial measures such as Adjusted EBITDA are presented in addition to, and not as a substitute for, or superior to, financial measures calculated in accordance with GAAP. Management uses non-GAAP financial measures to evaluate the Company’s operating performance and trends, as well as for making planning decisions. The Company believes that Adjusted EBITDA helps to identify underlying trends in the Company’s business that may otherwise be masked by the effect of the income and expenses and other items that it excludes in its calculation of Adjusted EBITDA. Accordingly, the Company believes this non-GAAP financial measure provides useful information to investors and others in understanding and evaluating the Company’s operating results, enhancing the overall understanding of its past performance and future prospects, and allowing for greater transparency with respect to key financial metrics used by the Company’s management in their financial and operational decision-making. The Company also presents this non-GAAP financial measure because it believes investors, analysts and rating agencies consider it to be a useful metric in measuring the Company’s performance against other companies and its ability to meet its debt service obligations.

There are limitations related to the use of non-GAAP financial measures such as Adjusted EBITDA because they are not prepared in accordance with GAAP, may exclude significant income and expenses required by GAAP to be recognized in the Company’s financial statements, and may not be comparable to

non-GAAP financial measures used by other companies. The Company encourages investors to carefully consider its results under GAAP, as well as its supplemental non-GAAP information and the reconciliation between these presentations, to more fully understand its business. A reconciliation between GAAP and non-GAAP results is presented below.

*A reconciliation of Adjusted EBITDA to GAAP net loss on a forward-looking basis is not available without unreasonable efforts due to the high variability, complexity and low visibility with respect to the items excluded from this non-GAAP measure.
