Sentiment and the balance of points

Rhea-AI Sentiment reads the wording of the document, how positive or negative its language is on a 1 to 5 scale. The balance of points shown with the takes weighs what the document actually discloses, so the two can disagree, for example when a trial that missed its main goal is described in upbeat language.

Rhea-AI Filing Summary

10x Genomics, Inc. (TXG) reported third-quarter 2026 revenue of $150.7 million, up 1% from $149.0 million a year earlier. Gross margin was 75%, versus 67%; the increase primarily reflected lower inventory write-downs and changes in product mix. Operating expenses were $129.0 million, down 3% from $132.5 million, primarily due to lower personnel and lab equipment expenses, partly offset by higher litigation expenses. Operating loss narrowed to $16.1 million from $32.2 million, and net loss narrowed to $19.4 million from $27.5 million. Cash, cash equivalents and marketable securities totaled $575.7 million as of September 30, 2026.

Management raised full-year 2026 revenue guidance to $625 million to $635 million, from $610 million to $630 million. Excluding non-recurring license and royalty revenue related to patent litigation settlements in both 2026 and 2025, the updated range represents 4% to 6% growth over full-year 2025. For the first nine months of 2026, revenue was $452.5 million versus $476.8 million, and net loss was $50.8 million versus $27.3 million.

How this balance works

Rhea-AI gives every point it takes from this document a weight. Minor counts 1, Moderate 3 and Major 9, so one Major point outweighs several Minor ones. The bar adds up the weights on each side, and when neither side holds more than 65% of the total the balance reads Mixed.

It reads the document as published, with the same rules for every company, and it does not look at what the market expected or at how the stock traded, so a point can be objectively good on a day the stock falls.

Rhea-AI Sentiment measures something else, the tone of the wording.

Gross margin financial
"Gross margin was 75% for the third quarter of 2026"
Gross margin is the difference between how much money a company makes from selling its products and how much it costs to produce them, expressed as a percentage of sales. It shows how efficiently a company is turning sales into profit before other expenses like marketing or salaries. Higher gross margin means the company keeps more money from each sale, which is a good sign of financial health.
License and royalty revenue financial
"License and royalty revenue related to patent litigation settlements"
Marketable securities financial
"Cash and cash equivalents and marketable securities"
Marketable securities are financial assets — such as publicly traded stocks, bonds, and short-term government bills — that a company can quickly sell for cash at a known price. Investors watch them because they show how much ready cash a company can access without selling core operations, like keeping money in a highly liquid savings account versus being tied up in a house, and they affect short-term risk, financial flexibility, and balance-sheet strength.
Weighted-average shares financial
"Weighted-average shares used to compute net loss per share"
Weighted-average shares is the average number of a company’s outstanding shares calculated over a reporting period, adjusted for any stock issuances, repurchases, or splits during that time. Investors use it to fairly compare earnings per share and other per-share metrics, because it smooths out changes in the share count the way an average speed reflects trips of different lengths rather than a single snapshot.
Contingent consideration financial
"Contingent consideration, current"
Contingent consideration is an additional payment agreed when one company buys another that will be paid later only if specific future targets are met, such as revenue, profit, or regulatory milestones. It matters to investors because it shifts risk between buyer and seller and affects the acquiring company's future cash flow and reported value — like promising a bonus after results are proven.
