Drone inspection and monitoring market almost $37 billion by 2030 Projected size with 19% annual growth according to The Business Research Company
Drones in Blue UAS process four drones Number of ZenaDrone platforms in process to achieve Blue UAS certification
Drone as a Service financial
"ZenaTech's Drone as a Service platform provides business and government customers"
Drone as a service (DaaS) is a business model where companies provide drone flights, sensors, data collection and analysis on a subscription or contract basis instead of selling the aircraft outright. For investors it matters because DaaS can create recurring revenue and scalable service margins like a rented contractor or utility, while concentrating risks around regulation, data security and operational reliability that can affect future cash flow and growth.
Blue UAS certification regulatory
"path to Blue UAS Certification as federal restrictions on Chinese-made drones"
NDAA-compliant regulatory
"toward NDAA-compliant Blue UAS Certification and expanded defense opportunities"
NDAA-compliant means that a product, supplier, or company meets the rules in the U.S. National Defense Authorization Act that bar certain foreign technologies and require specific security practices. For investors, compliance matters because it determines whether a business can sell to the U.S. government, avoid fines or bans, and reduce supply‑chain or reputational risk—similar to passing a background check that lets you bid on a sensitive contract.
digital terrain modeling technical
"expands ZenaWorx ... to include digital terrain modeling and signs first AI data center"
A digital terrain model (DTM) is a computer-built, three-dimensional map of the earth's bare surface that records ground elevation and slope, created from survey data, lidar, satellite imagery, or photogrammetry. For investors, it matters because many projects—like construction, mining, infrastructure, land development, and environmental planning—rely on accurate terrain models for cost estimates, risk assessment and engineering decisions; think of it as a precise, digital version of a sandbox that shows every hill and valley.
LiDAR technical
"its LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging)-based construction progress monitoring software"
Lidar, which stands for Light Detection and Ranging, is a technology that uses laser beams to create detailed, three-dimensional maps of the environment. It works like a sophisticated eye that measures distances by bouncing light off objects, helping machines see and understand their surroundings. For investors, lidar is important because it enables advancements in autonomous vehicles, robotics, and mapping, which can drive innovation and growth in related industries.
Section 232 tariffs regulatory
"imposing Section 232 tariffs on imported drones and components could strengthen"
A U.S. law authority that lets the government impose import duties if certain goods are judged to threaten national security, commonly used for metals like steel or aluminum. For investors, these tariffs act like a sudden price hike or import tax on a company's raw materials or foreign competitors, which can raise costs, change profit margins, shift supply chains, and alter competitive advantage across affected industries.

ZenaTech’s ZenaDrone Begins In-House PCB Flight Testing, Advancing Vertical Integration Strategy Toward NDAA-Compliant Blue UAS Certification and Expanded Defense Opportunities

In-house production strengthens ZenaDrone’s path to Blue UAS Certification as federal restrictions on Chinese-made drones open a significant market opportunity for compliant American manufacturers

Vancouver, British Columbia, (August 11, 2026) — ZenaTech, Inc. (Nasdaq: ZENA) (FSE: 49Q) (BMV: ZENA) (“ZenaTech”), a technology solution provider specializing in AI (Artificial Intelligence) drones, Drone as a Service (DaaS), enterprise SaaS, and Quantum Computing solutions, announces that its U.S.-based subsidiary ZenaDrone has commenced flight testing of its custom-designed printed circuit boards (PCBs) at its UAE manufacturing and testing facility, integrating the proprietary boards directly into its ZenaDrone 1000 and IQ Nano drone platforms. The boards are designed and manufactured at the Company’s Taiwan-based Spider Vision Sensors (SVS) subsidiary, then shipped to UAE for integration and flight validation, representing the latest step in ZenaTech’s strategy to build a vertically integrated, defense-grade supply chain positioned to capture growing U.S. government demand for NDAA-compliant drone technology.

"Flight testing our in-house circuit boards is a proof point in our vertical integration strategy, which we believe is central to long-term shareholder value," said Shaun Passley, Ph.D., ZenaTech CEO. "Designing and manufacturing our own boards through Spider Vision Sensors, rather than depending on third-party or foreign suppliers, gives us control over cost, quality, and our timeline to Blue UAS certification, considered a gateway to higher-volume procurement and U.S. Defense Department and NATO contracts. With Chinese-made drones being pushed out of the federal market, we believe ZenaDrone is well positioned to capture a meaningful share of a U.S. defense drone market being reshaped in our favor."

This milestone advances ZenaDrone's vertical integration strategy of bringing core electronics design and manufacturing fully in-house. The rationale is threefold: greater supply chain resilience amid geopolitical and export-control uncertainty; improved gross margin potential from reduced reliance on external suppliers; and a shorter design-to-deployment cycle through direct control over circuit board design and testing. Successful validation will pave the way for components to be deployed across ZenaDrone's full platform lineup including the ZenaDrone 1000, IQ series, and Counter UAS products.

The custom PCBs are produced at Spider Vision Sensors' 16,000-square-foot Taiwan facility, which also is in the processes of manufacturing components such as cameras, sensors and motors consolidating key supply chain points under direct ZenaTech ownership. Taiwan's strength as an electronics hub supports high-precision manufacturing while reducing reliance on Chinese-made components. Taiwan is not designated a "covered foreign country" under the NDAA — making components manufactured there eligible for use in NDAA-compliant, Blue UAS-eligible drone systems.

NDAA compliance means adhering to the U.S. National Defense Authorization Act, which restricts foreign-made electronics, including Chinese-sourced components, in defense equipment. Blue UAS certification is a prerequisite for direct DoD and federal agency procurement and requires component-level traceability, including for PCBs. ZenaDrone currently has four drones in this process to achieve certification. This comes as the American Security Drone Act and new Federal Communications Commission (FCC) restrictions bar Chinese-made drones and components from federal use, displacing long-dominant manufacturers and creating an opportunity that management believes ZenaDrone's vertically integrated, non-Chinese supply chain is positioned to capture. Further updates will follow as the Company progresses through additional flight validation milestones.

ZenaTech Expands ZenaWorx Drone-based Construction Monitoring Software to Include Digital Terrain Modeling and Signs First AI Data Center Customer

The expanded LiDAR analytics offering for the earthworks phase delivered through Drone as a Service, is designed to generate recurring revenue across the life of a building project for commercial and public works customers.

Vancouver, British Columbia, (August 13, 2026) – ZenaTech, Inc. (Nasdaq: ZENA) (FSE: 49Q) (BMV: ZENA) (“ZenaTech”), a technology solution provider specializing in AI (Artificial Intelligence) drone, Drone as a Service (DaaS), enterprise SaaS, and Quantum Computing solutions,  announces the expansion of ZenaWorx, its LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging)-based construction progress monitoring software, offered through its Drone as a Service division, to include digital terrain modeling (DTM) capabilities. The company also announced the signing of its first paying customer for a building project in the AI data center construction market. The new DTM functionality currently at the beta stage, extends ZenaWorx beyond structural 3D progress tracking to include precise measurement of cut-and-fill volumes, grading accuracy, and drainage, capabilities that are central to the earthworks phase of large-scale AI data center campuses and other public works projects that often span across months and years over the duration of a building project.

“The AI data center construction market represents one of the largest infrastructure buildouts in a generation, and speed plus data quality and precision translate directly into cost and schedule savings for builders and contractors,” said Shaun Passley, Ph.D., CEO of ZenaTech. “By expanding ZenaWorx into digital terrain modeling, we can offer AI data center developers, as well as public works customers such as landfill operators and municipalities managing drainage and grading projects, a faster and richer view of what is happening on site than traditional survey methods allow. Importantly, this is a recurring revenue opportunity for ZenaTech. Rather than a single site visit, we intend to partner with customers across the full life of a project, from initial earthworks through ongoing monitoring, building a durable, subscription-based relationship with every customer we sign.”

ZenaWorx combines the company’s Enterprise SaaS expertise incorporated into Drone as a Service jobs, focused on processing drone and LiDAR-captured data and transforming it into visual, analytics-driven construction progress insights. Originally introduced as a virtual design and construction (VDC) 3D progress monitoring tool, the software has now been expanded to include digital terrain modeling, allowing project teams to track cut-and-fill volumes, grading, and elevation changes in addition to structural and site-progress monitoring. The software is intended to support standardized reporting and performance tracking across construction projects, with broader applications expected to be explored over time.

Drone-based digital terrain modeling uses drone-mounted LiDAR or photogrammetric sensors to generate a highly accurate digital representation of the ground surface, capturing elevation, slope, and grading data that can be compared against engineering plans throughout a construction project. VDI is used across construction, mining, agriculture, and public infrastructure to measure cut-and-fill volumes, monitor drainage patterns, and verify compliance with site design. According to MarkWide Research, the global digital elevation model market is projected to grow from approximately $3.8 billion in 2026 to $10.04 billion by 2035, a compounded annual growth rate of approximately 11.4%, driven by survey needs in public works and government sectors.

ZenaTech’s Drone as a Service (DaaS) division provides on-demand turnkey drone piloting, data capture, and data processing services to commercial, government, and infrastructure customers, allowing them to access aerial data and automation without owning or operating their own drone fleets. The division is being built through an acquisition-led strategy that combines local low-tech service providers into a global network, creating a scalable platform for delivering recurring revenue aerial and data services such as surveying, inspections, power washing and construction progress monitoring.

ZenaTech Anticipates Competitive Advantage for ZenaDrone as U.S. Imposes Tariffs of Up to 100% on Imported Drones and Components

U.S. Presidential Proclamation favors ZenaDrone’s domestic manufacturing and the company's vertically integrated Taiwan supply chain, strengthening its position in U.S. defense markets

Vancouver, British Columbia, (August 17, 2026) -- ZenaTech, Inc. (Nasdaq: ZENA) (FSE: 49Q) (BMV: ZENA) (“ZenaTech”), a technology solution provider specializing in AI (Artificial Intelligence) drone, Drone as a Service (DaaS), enterprise SaaS, and Quantum Computing solutions, announces that a U.S. Presidential Proclamation signed August 13, 2026 imposing Section 232 tariffs on imported drones and components could strengthen the competitive positioning of its U.S.-based drone design and manufacturing subsidiary ZenaDrone.

Objectives of the proclamation include national security and reducing U.S. dependence on foreign drone manufacturing and supply chains, as well as rapidly building domestic drone manufacturing capacity. The new policy validates ZenaTech’s U.S.–Taiwan vertical integration strategy through now explicitly prioritizing expansion of domestic manufacturing and trusted-country supply chains. Tariffs of up to 100% on imported drones and critical components could provide a competitive advantage to ZenaDrone’s U.S. defense opportunities for NDAA-compliant, secure, domestically manufactured drones and Counter-UAS solutions.

“For years, the drone industry rewarded whoever could build the most inexpensively offshore, creating a supply chain now recognized as a national security vulnerability. We made a different decision, building our drone manufacturing in the U.S. and developing a vertically integrated, NDAA-compliant supply chain through our operations in Taiwan because we believed defense and critical-infrastructure customers would increasingly demand secure, trusted supply chains,” said Dr. Shaun Passley, ZenaTech CEO. “The new Section 232 tariffs reinforce our strategy and could significantly strengthen ZenaDrone’s competitive position in the U.S. defense market, particularly for our larger ZD 1000 and Counter-UAS defense platforms. We believe this policy shift validates our investments made in U.S. manufacturing and vertical integration, and we intend to move quickly to review the Commerce Department’s onshoring program evaluating opportunities to further expand domestic manufacturing capacity to capture growing demand across government and commercial markets.”

The Proclamation imposes tariffs of up to 100% on imported drones and certain critical components, including larger drones over 25 kilograms and drones with thermal imaging capabilities, while smaller drones generally face a 25% tariff. Importantly, ZenaTech’s qualifying products and components from Taiwan are eligible for preferential tariff treatment of no more than 15%, compared with tariffs of up to 100% for covered products from countries without preferential treatment such as China. This significantly strengthens the strategic value of ZenaTech’s vertically integrated supply chain through its Spider Vision Sensors subsidiary in Taiwan and its U.S. manufacturing strategy.

The Proclamation also establishes an onshoring program to encourage new investment in U.S. drone and component manufacturing.  It recognizes drones as a critical technology for modern warfare and future U.S. military operations, emphasizing the need to rapidly expand domestic production to strengthen national and economic security. These priorities closely align with ZenaTech’s strategy to expand Zena Drone’s U.S. manufacturing footprint and grow its defense and public-safety drone business. The Company intends to evaluate participation in the onshoring program, and management believes its existing and planned U.S. manufacturing and assembly operations provide a strong foundation to accelerate additional capacity. ZenaTech is reviewing the full Proclamation, including applicable tariff schedule classifications and product-level determinations, and will provide further updates as they develop.

ZenaTech Closes 28th Drone as a Service Acquisition, Adding a Canadian-based Civil and Structural Engineering Firm with Customers Across Five Provinces

Vancouver, British Columbia, (August 20, 2026) — ZenaTech, Inc. (Nasdaq: ZENA) (FSE: 49Q) (BMV: ZENA) (“ZenaTech”), a technology solution provider specializing in AI (Artificial Intelligence) drone, Drone as a Service (DaaS), enterprise SaaS, and Quantum Computing solutions, announces that it has completed the acquisition of Canadian-based engineering firm Cogswell Engineering, Ltd. (Cogswell), located in Dartmouth, near Halifax, Nova Scotia. Cogswell is a full-service civil, structural, mechanical and electrical engineering firm serving builders, construction companies, public works authorities and multi-jurisdictional organizations across five provinces. The acquisition marks ZenaTech’s 28th Drone as a Service acquisition to date, its third in Canada, and its second in the Halifax region.

“This acquisition strengthens our Drone as a Service footprint in Atlantic Canada and extends our platform into civil and structural engineering design work,” said Shaun Passley, Ph.D., ZenaTech CEO. “With provincial licensing and an established client base spanning five provinces, Cogswell provides an ideal platform for our acquisition and expansion strategy. We see significant opportunities to broaden its service offerings through drone-enabled surveying, structural inspections, construction monitoring and stormwater management, creating new recurring revenue opportunities while delivering greater efficiency and value to commercial and public works customers.”

ZenaTech plans to offer drone-based site inspections, structural monitoring and 3-D data capture through its ZenaWorx platform, complementing Cogswell’s existing civil and structural engineering design services. The drone inspection and monitoring market, which, according to The Business Research Company, is growing at 19% per year and projected to reach almost $37 billion by 2030.  Management believes the acquisition will support recurring drone services that improve speed, efficiency, analytics, data and safety for engineering and construction customers across Atlantic Canada and beyond.

Drones are changing how civil, structural and engineering firms collect data, inspect assets and plan projects. Using advanced cameras, LiDAR, thermal imaging and precision mapping technology, drones can quickly capture detailed information on buildings, bridges, construction sites and other infrastructure that would traditionally require more time, equipment and personnel to collect. This data can be used for surveying, 3-D modeling, structural inspections, construction monitoring, engineering design and ongoing asset management. By making data collection faster, safer and more cost-effective, drones can help engineering teams make better decisions, reduce project costs and improve productivity, which in turn creates a growing opportunity for drone-based services across the infrastructure and engineering markets.

ZenaTech’s Drone as a Service platform provides business and government customers with subscription-based drone services using its own ZenaDrone product platforms, for a host of surveying, inspections, maintenance, power washing, and precision agriculture solutions—eliminating the need for customers to own, operate and maintain commercial-grade drone fleets. Through the acquisition of established, profitable but under digitized service businesses, ZenaTech is building a scalable global DaaS network and AI autonomy platform, with recurring revenue and an existing customer base, while integrating advanced drone technologies to deliver greater speed, precision, safety, and data-driven insights. The Company continues to expand its geographic footprint, service offerings, and drone capabilities to drive long-term growth.
