Methode Ele (MEI) reported $1.0B in revenue over the twelve months to Aug 1, 2026, down 2.8% from the prior twelve months. This page shows its income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement, and key financial ratios. Methode's earnings mechanic is a partial operating recovery: gross margin rebounds while below-operating charges keep net income negative.
Gross margin's FY2024 trough of16.0% recovered to19.8% by FY2026 despite shrinking sales, pointing to mix or cost improvement rather than volume-led expansion. Operating margin improved from-10.1% to0.9% , meaning the core operation approached breakeven even as interest and other below-operating items prevented a net-profit recovery.
FY2026's net loss of
Balance-sheet flexibility has narrowed: debt-to-equity rose from 0.2x in FY2022 to 0.5x in FY2026 as equity declined, placing the operating recovery on a less conservative capital base. The current ratio also fell from 3.3x to 2.4x, leaving current assets above current liabilities but with less excess liquidity.

Methode Ele has an operating margin of 0.9%, meaning the company retains $1 of operating profit per $100 of revenue. This below-average margin results in a low score of 21/100, suggesting thin profitability after operating expenses. This is up from -2.3% the prior year.
Methode Ele's revenue declined 2.8% year-over-year, from $1.0B to $1.0B. This contraction results in a growth score of 18/100.

Distress-screening estimate for non-financial companies. Not computed for banks or insurers, where the Altman model does not apply.
Methode Ele passes 4 of 9 financial strength tests. 3 of 4 profitability signals pass, no leverage/liquidity signals pass (rising debt, declining liquidity, or share dilution), 1 of 2 efficiency signals pass.
Methode Ele reported a net loss of $35.7M while generating $38.0M in operating cash flow. Operations generated cash despite the loss, but with no positive earnings behind it, the ratio between the two carries no quality signal.
Methode Ele earns $0.38 in operating income for every $1 of interest expense ($8.8M vs $23.3M). This narrow margin raises concern about the company's ability to service its debt if operating income declines.
