DF150 is the first model in the new Defiant Future family of commercial defense power supplies certified to meet MIL-STD 810H and MIL-STD 461G standards

DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Advanced Energy Industries Inc. (Nasdaq: AEIS), a global leader in highly engineered, precision power conversion, measurement and control solutions, today launches the ruggedized DF150 160 W AC-DC power supply. This is the first offering in the company’s Defiant Future (DF) series of robust, high-reliability standard power supplies for extreme-environment applications across the defense, industrial, telecommunications, transportation and energy sectors.

The Defiant Future family is designed to deliver uninterrupted power to critical applications where reliability is non-negotiable.

The Defiant Future family is designed to deliver uninterrupted power to critical applications where reliability is non-negotiable.

Backed by rigorous validation testing, the DF150 power supply features a broad spectrum of MIL-STD certifications, combining proven performance with the shorter lead times of a standard power supply. It is certified to MIL-STD 810H, withstanding harsh conditions including shock, vibration, altitude variations and thermal extremes. DF150 also provides enhanced electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) performance with certification to MIL-STD 461G. The unit delivers a nominal 27 VDC at 6 A (160 W) with no performance degradation across its extended operating temperature range of -46ºC to +60ºC. With its IP67 rating, DF150 is fully submersible and exceeds MIL-STD ingress protection requirements for dust and liquids.

"The Defiant Future family is designed to deliver uninterrupted power to critical applications where reliability is non-negotiable,” said Joe Voyles, Advanced Energy’s vice president, Industrial Power Conversion Products. “The DF150 marks a significant step forward in what is possible from a standard commercial defense power supply. It delivers the performance and breadth of MIL-STD certifications often associated with custom-designed solutions with the availability and lead-time advantages of a standard commercial product."

The DF150 delivers up to 91% efficiency at full load. It operates with no minimum load and low leakage (275 µA at 230 VAC). Its MIL-STD-461G certification includes RE102, CE102, CS101, CS114, CS115, CS116, CS118 and RS103. Advanced Energy offers the DF150 with conduction cooling via a base plate or convection cooling with a mounted heatsink. Other options include various input cable configurations and case colors. Key Terms

mil-std 810h technical
A U.S. military environmental test standard that describes how to check whether equipment can survive real-world stresses like drops, vibration, extreme temperatures, humidity, dust and salt spray. For investors, a product built or certified to this standard signals higher durability and lower field-failure risk—similar to buying a car that passed rigorous crash and endurance tests—making the product more attractive for government contracts and commercial markets where reliability matters.
mil-std 461g technical
A U.S. Department of Defense technical standard that sets mandatory laboratory test procedures and limits for electromagnetic emissions and susceptibility of military and related electronic equipment; the “G” is a specific revision. It matters to investors because meeting this certification is often required for selling electronics into defense and aerospace markets, like passing a safety inspection for a car — it affects a product’s eligibility, development time, and testing costs.
electromagnetic compatibility (emc) technical
Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) is the ability of an electronic device or system to work properly without creating or being disrupted by unwanted electrical noise from other devices. For investors, EMC matters because failing to meet regulatory EMC standards can block sales, force expensive redesigns, cause recalls or fines, and slow product launches — like ensuring neighbors don't all shout at once so everyone can be heard without disturbance.
ip67 rating technical
An IP67 rating is an international ingress-protection code (IEC 60529) that describes how well a device is sealed against dust and water: the “6” means completely dust-tight, and the “7” means the device can withstand temporary immersion in up to about one meter of water for roughly 30 minutes. For investors, the rating signals a product’s claimed durability and suitability for outdoor or rugged use—similar to knowing a jacket is both windproof and waterproof—affecting customer appeal, warranty exposure, and market positioning.
