Amprius (NYSE: AMPX) announced a CEO transition: President Tom Stepien will become Chief Executive Officer effective January 1, 2026.

Founder and current CEO Dr. Kang Sun will retire as CEO at the end of 2025, remain on the Board, and serve as an Executive Advisor. Stepien joined Amprius as President in May 2025 and brings over 35 years of leadership experience across battery and industrial technology companies.

The Board cited continuity of leadership and Stepien’s operational and industry background as reasons for the appointment.

Amprius (NYSE: AMPX) announced on December 15, 2025 that it expanded the Amprius Korea Battery Alliance with three new contract manufacturers following a launch event in Daejeon, South Korea.

The Alliance broadens access to Korea's battery production ecosystem, aligns Amprius' global operations with NDAA requirements, and supports defense, aerospace, and critical infrastructure customers. With the new partners, Amprius' contract manufacturing network now exceeds 2 GWh of global capacity, a scale increase the company says will help meet rising demand. Amprius (NYSE: AMPX) announced that Nokia selected Amprius SiCore® cells to power Nokia Drone Networks' next-generation drone systems on December 2, 2025.

After extensive qualification and testing, Amprius batteries demonstrated the endurance, burst power, and safety needed for takeoff, sustained flight, obstacle avoidance, return-to-home, and safety-critical subsystems. The cells' lightweight, high energy density supports LiDAR, thermal imaging, and 5G modules, enabling Extra Long Range (XLR) and BVLOS missions and expanding automated fleet operational reach.

Amprius (NYSE: AMPX) launched the Amprius Korea Battery Alliance on November 12, 2025 to expand its South Korea footprint and strengthen its international supply chain. The Alliance brings together Korean battery manufacturers, materials suppliers, cell component producers, equipment makers, and investors to collaborate on SiCore battery cell production, electrode innovation, and equipment manufacturing. Amprius (NYSE: AMPX) announced that Empirical Systems Aerospace (ESAero) selected its SiCore® SA08 high-power silicon-anode cell to power next-generation unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for defense, security, logistics, and public safety applications on October 14, 2025.

The SA08 is described as available in volume today, has completed formal qualification, and is now integrated into ESAero products — enabling longer flight times and increased payload capacity. Amprius says the selection supports accelerated development and production timelines and signals growing traction with other UAV partners.

Amprius (NYSE: AMPX) appointed Ricardo C. Rodriguez as Chief Financial Officer, effective October 6, 2025, with outgoing CFO Sandra Wallach retiring and remaining to support a short-term transition.

Rodriguez brings more than two decades of finance, strategy, and operations experience across automotive, mobility, and technology sectors, including recent roles as CFO and Treasurer and Chief Strategy Officer at Aspen Aerogels and prior strategy and senior roles at Aptiv, ClearMotion, OnStar, Amazon, and Fiat Chrysler.
