A stock dividend is when a company gives its existing shareholders extra shares instead of cash. It’s like receiving more pieces of the same pie rather than a bigger piece of money, which can increase the number of shares you own but usually doesn’t change the total value of your investment right away. Investors care about it because it can signal the company's growth and affect the stock’s price.
adjusted diluted epsfinancial
Adjusted diluted EPS is a company’s profit per share after adding back or removing one-time items (like restructuring costs or gains) and dividing by the number of shares including potential shares from options and convertible securities. Investors use it as a cleaner view of ongoing earnings—like looking at a car’s regular fuel efficiency rather than a trip boosted by downhill coasting—to judge underlying performance and compare companies without temporary distortions.
shareholder of recordfinancial
The shareholder of record is the person or entity whose name appears on a company's official shareholder register on a specified record date, making them the legal owner for corporate actions. It matters to investors because companies use that list to decide who is entitled to vote, receive dividends, or participate in rights offerings — similar to being on a guest list that determines who gets entry and benefits at an event.
