Sentiment and the balance of points

Rhea-AI Sentiment reads the wording of the document, how positive or negative its language is on a 1 to 5 scale. The balance of points shown with the takes weighs what the document actually discloses, so the two can disagree, for example when a trial that missed its main goal is described in upbeat language.

Its trustees will determine the amount and timing of any additional distributions at their sole discretion.

How this balance works

Rhea-AI gives every point it takes from this document a weight. Minor counts 1, Moderate 3 and Major 9, so one Major point outweighs several Minor ones. The bar adds up the weights on each side, and when neither side holds more than 65% of the total the balance reads Mixed.

It reads the document as published, with the same rules for every company, and it does not look at what the market expected or at how the stock traded, so a point can be objectively good on a day the stock falls.

Rhea-AI Sentiment measures something else, the tone of the wording.

3 terms
form 25 regulatory
"file a Form 25, or Notification of Removal from Listing"
A Form 25 is an official filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission used to remove a company's stock or other security from a national exchange list. Investors should care because delisting often means less visibility, lower trading volume and wider price swings—similar to a product moving from a major supermarket to a small local market, which can make buying, selling and valuing the security more difficult.
form 10-k regulatory
"annual reports on Form 10-K"
A Form 10-K is a comprehensive report that publicly traded companies are required to file annually with regulators. It provides a detailed overview of a company's financial health, operations, and risks, similar to a detailed health report. Investors use this information to assess the company's performance and make informed decisions about buying or selling its stock.
form 8-k regulatory
"current reports on Form 8-K"
A Form 8-K is a report that companies file with the government to share important news quickly, such as changes in leadership, major business deals, or financial updates. It matters because it helps investors stay informed about significant events that could affect the company's value or stock price.

NEW YORK, Oct. 16, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Apollo Commercial Real Estate Finance, Inc. (the “Company”) (NYSE: ARI) today provided an update on its ongoing liquidation activities, including updates regarding the anticipated timing of delisting from the New York Stock Exchange (the “NYSE”) and the establishment of a liquidating trust for purposes of completing the wind-down process and dissolution of the Company in accordance with the Plan of Complete Liquidation and Dissolution (the “Plan”).

The Company has provided notice to the NYSE of its intention to voluntarily delist its shares of common stock (the “Shares”) from the NYSE. The Company expects to file a Form 25, or Notification of Removal from Listing, with the Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”) and the NYSE relating to the delisting of the Shares on or about October 27, 2026. The Company also expects that the last day of trading on the NYSE will be November 6, 2026. After delisting from the NYSE, the Company will transfer all of its remaining assets and liabilities to a statutory trust formed under the laws of the State of Maryland (the “Liquidating Trust”), deregister with the SEC, which the Company expects to occur on November 9, 2026, and terminate its existence by voluntary dissolution. The purpose of the Liquidating Trust is to wind up the Company’s affairs and liquidate the Company’s remaining assets, to preserve the value of such assets in connection with their orderly liquidation and, after satisfying or providing for the Company’s remaining liabilities, to distribute such assets or the proceeds thereof to the holders of the beneficial interests of the Liquidating Trust (the “Beneficial Interests”). After the transfer of the Company’s assets and liabilities to the Liquidating Trust, the Company intends to distribute the Beneficial Interests to the stockholders of the Company on a one-for-one basis.

Following the transfer of the Company’s assets and liabilities to the Liquidating Trust, subject to certain limited exceptions including transfer by will, intestate succession or operation of law, the Beneficial Interests will not be transferable, nor will holders of Beneficial Interests have authority or power to sell or in any other manner dispose of their Beneficial Interests. The Beneficial Interests will not trade on the NYSE or any other exchange. The rights of holders of Beneficial Interests in the Liquidating Trust will not be represented by any form of certificate or other instrument.

Based on guidance previously provided by the SEC in similar circumstances, assuming the Company terminates its existence as described above, the Company anticipates that the Liquidating Trust will be required to file only annual reports on Form 10-K (using the SEC file number of the Company) containing unaudited financial statements, as well as current reports on Form 8-K (also filed using the SEC file number of the Company).

The Company expects ACREFI Management, LLC, or one of its affiliates, to be retained as manager of the Liquidating Trust to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Liquidating Trust. The actual amount and timing of payment of any additional liquidating distribution(s) would be made by the board of trustees of the Liquidating Trust in its sole discretion.

Material U.S. Federal Income Tax Consequences
Information regarding the expected U.S. federal income tax consequences of any additional liquidating distributions, as well as the Plan, are summarized in the Company’s definitive proxy statement, filed with the SEC on August 24, 2026, for the special meeting of shareholders held on September 29, 2026, which is available free of charge through the website maintained by the SEC at http://www.sec.gov. However, the tax treatment described may vary depending on each shareholder’s particular situation.
