American Water Launches Nationwide Celebration of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Safe Drinking Water Act’s 50th Anniversary

CAMDEN, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- American Water (NYSE: AWK), the largest regulated water and wastewater utility company in the U.S., announced today that it will launch a nationwide celebration recognizing the 50th anniversary of the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA), a law passed by Congress in 1974 to protect public health by regulating the nation’s public drinking water supply, through 50 days of highlights starting today through December 16, 2024.
