DUBLIN, Ohio, Sept. 4, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Cardinal Health (NYSE: CAH) announced the opening of its newest distribution center in Fort Worth, Texas – a facility solely dedicated to the at-Home Solutions business, a leading medical supplies provider that serves more than 6 million people annually in the United States. In addition, Cardinal Health announced that it will also break ground on a new distribution center dedicated to at-Home Solutions in Sacramento, California, this fiscal year.

New Texas facility marks third distribution center built from the ground-up in just three years
As the latest facility in the business's industry-leading warehouse network, the new 340,000 square foot distribution center in Fort Worth, Texas, will ship approximately 10,000 packages per day directly to people's homes across the country. These shipments contain critical medical supplies needed to help manage chronic conditions like diabetes, sleep apnea and urological conditions.

As part of its ongoing investment in distribution excellence, in just three years, at-Home Solutions has added more than 750,000 square feet to its nationwide distribution network with three new buildings in Ohio, South Carolina and now, Texas – all equipped with the latest robotics and automation technology.

"Investing in our supply chain is not a 'nice to have' – it is a must-have," said Jamie Deist, senior vice president of Supply Chain for at-Home Solutions. "We will always prioritize what is needed to ensure that our distribution network is built with our customers' needs in mind. We've been intentional as we design our supply chain of the future, being extremely selective of the robotics and automation technologies that enhance our ability to get supplies shipped to patients more quickly and efficiently. No doubt this focus led to what has been the best year on record in at-Home Solutions' history for warehouse service levels, quality, and safety."

Bringing expansion and key automation to the West Coast
At Cardinal Health's recent Investor Day presentation, Rob Schlissberg, president of at-Home Solutions, announced the company's plans for further investment in expansion. As part of this plan, Cardinal Health will break ground this fiscal year in Sacramento, California, on another new site fully dedicated to the at-Home Solutions business. In addition, it will also begin retrofitting an existing Ontario, California, distribution center with technology featured in its newest sites, including a state-of-the-art fully automated outbound conveyor system.

"Expanding in the West Coast is absolutely critical as we seek to get packages to the people we serve faster and more efficiently than ever before," Deist said. "With numerous carrier hubs and a significant number of our customers located on the West Coast, we knew that now was the right time for us to focus on both expanding our presence and further automating our existing sites in that region of the U.S."

The new Sacramento building is anticipated to be fully operational in Summer 2027.
