Warmer weather forecast across key operating regions and expanded exposure to high-growth Southeast construction markets position the Company for improved seasonal performance.

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Capstone Holding Corp. (NASDAQ: CAPS), a national, technology-enabled building products distribution platform, today highlighted favorable conditions supporting its outlook for the upcoming winter season. Following one of the harshest winters in recent memory, forecasts for milder temperatures across key operating regions, together with the Company's expanded presence in the Southeast, create opportunities for stronger seasonal performance.

The winter of 2025–26 brought unusually cold temperatures across Capstone's operating markets, significantly disrupting construction and installation activity. Severe winter weather was particularly pronounced across the Northeast and Midwest, where prolonged periods of below-freezing temperatures and heavy snowfall constrained outdoor construction activity.1

The outlook for the coming winter is more favorable. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) forecasts above-normal temperatures across much of the northern and eastern United States for December 2026 through February 2027.2 While seasonal weather remains unpredictable, warmer temperatures are expected to reduce weather-related interruptions to construction and remodeling activity, particularly in key northeastern markets.

Capstone also enters the winter with an expanded presence in the Southeast. Since acquiring Carolina Stone in 2025, the Company has fully integrated the business and optimized its operations, positioning Capstone to capitalize more effectively on the region's comparatively mild winter construction season and strong demand for new housing. Today, six of the nation's ten leading new-construction markets are located in North or South Carolina, according to Realtor.com.3

“Capstone enters this winter in a substantially stronger position than a year ago,” said Matthew Lipman, Chief Executive Officer of Capstone. “We've expanded our Southeast operations, continued delivering organic growth, and built a platform capable of performing through difficult market conditions. With the prospect of a milder winter across our key operating regions, we see meaningful opportunities to sustain our momentum into 2027.”

Key Highlights:

  • Improved Winter Outlook: NOAA forecasts warmer-than-average temperatures across much of the northern and eastern United States, potentially reducing seasonal disruptions to construction activity.
  • Favorable Year-Over-Year Comparison: The 2025–26 winter brought unusually severe weather that suppressed installation volumes across Capstone's operating regions.
  • Expanded Southeast Exposure: Carolina Stone enters its first fully integrated winter season within Capstone's platform, providing greater participation in the region's comparatively favorable construction climate.
  • Demonstrated Market Resilience: Capstone's organic distribution revenue grew year over year in the second quarter of 2026 despite contraction in the broader building-products market.
