Expertise Aligned With FreeCast's Next Stage
FreeCast believes this expertise is particularly relevant as the boundaries between satellite, terrestrial wireless, broadband, mobile devices and streaming media continue to converge.
FreeCast's strategy increasingly positions its technology as a software and services layer that can sit above multiple forms of connectivity, enabling telecommunications, broadband, satellite and other distribution partners to extend entertainment, content discovery, subscription management, advertising and digital services to their customers.
Under the consulting agreement, FutureInnoX would provide FreeCast with strategic consulting, technology advisory, business development, engineering support and related professional services. The agreement specifically identifies capabilities involving government contracting strategy, DoD and NASA opportunity assessment, telecommunications, broadband, satellite communications, wireless infrastructure, emerging connectivity technologies, cybersecurity, critical infrastructure, technology commercialization and strategic partnerships.
William Mobley, CEO of FreeCast, said:
“The communications industry is rapidly moving toward a world where satellite, wireless, broadband and media distribution are no longer separate industries. Connectivity is increasingly becoming ubiquitous. The next enormous opportunity is determining what happens after that connection reaches the consumer.”
“Dr. Gillot brings a level of telecommunications, spectrum, defense, international and government experience that is highly complementary to where FreeCast is headed. Her experience at the Pentagon, with the Air Force and Space Force, and with the State Department provides valuable perspective as we explore opportunities involving satellite communications, next-generation wireless networks, government markets and global connectivity.”
“FreeCast does not need to build the satellite or own the spectrum. Our opportunity is to provide the intelligent media, services and monetization layer that can operate across those networks.”
Dr. Gillot's background also includes experience with Team Telecom, the interagency process associated with national-security review of certain FCC telecommunications matters, as well as foreign investment and telecommunications infrastructure assessments. Her work has included advising senior government leadership regarding spectrum policy, telecommunications modernization, foreign ownership risk, technology transfer and critical communications infrastructure.
From Connectivity to Services
The engagement comes as FreeCast continues pursuing a broader strategy designed to make its technology applicable across traditional broadband as well as emerging satellite and wireless distribution models.
As connectivity becomes available across more devices and locations, FreeCast sees an opportunity to provide a common platform through which connectivity providers can offer consumers television, streaming discovery, subscriptions, local content, advertising, commerce and other digital services without having to independently develop a complete media ecosystem.
FutureInnoX's agreement with FreeCast expressly contemplates advisory work across telecommunications, broadband, satellite communications, wireless infrastructure, emerging connectivity technologies, government opportunities, commercialization planning and strategic alliances, areas FreeCast believes can complement the Company's expanding PaaS strategy.
Mobley added:
“The strategic question is no longer simply how you connect billions of devices. It is how you create economic value once those devices are connected. We believe FreeCast can become an important platform at that intersection, and adding world-class expertise in spectrum, satellite communications, defense technology and international telecommunications strengthens our ability to pursue that opportunity.”
