New Online Tools Allow Customers to Upgrade Already Included Streaming Services to Ad-Free and Add Apps A La Carte to Internet-Only Plans

Key Takeaways:

  • Spectrum's Seamless Entertainment combines live TV plus the most popular streaming services at no extra cost.
  • It's never been easier for customers to stream without commercial interruption, or to add streaming apps to their Spectrum Internet plan.
  • Customers can now upgrade and add streaming apps via the My Spectrum App or Spectrum.net.

STAMFORD, Conn., July 30, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Spectrum today announced the rollout of new digital self-service features designed to make it even easier and more cost-effective for TV and Internet customers to enjoy the Company's industry-leading Seamless Entertainment experience. TV customers whose plans include free access to streaming services can now upgrade to commercial-free streaming from the My Spectrum App or Spectrum.net by paying only the retail price difference between the "with ads" and "without ads" versions. Additionally, Internet-only customers can use these same digital tools to add streaming apps to their Spectrum plan on an a la carte basis.

The enhancements are part of Spectrum's Seamless Entertainment experience, which combines live TV with the most popular streaming services at no additional cost, along with a convenient all-in-one way to watch on the Xumo Stream Box. The upgrade to ad-free streaming benefits Spectrum TV Select customers, all of whom already receive ad-supported streaming apps with their video package. Those apps include AMC+ with Ads, Disney+ Basic, HBO Max Basic With Ads, Paramount+ Essential, ViX Premium With Ads and Peacock Premium with Ads, with more apps coming soon, including Hulu (With Ads) and ESPN's forthcoming streaming service – a retail streaming value of more than $100 per month. For Spectrum Internet-only customers, this marks the first time a digital, self-service option has been available to add streaming services to their Spectrum account.

Making the Most of Spectrum Seamless Entertainment
With the new upgrade options, TV Select customers simply pay the price difference between the ad-supported apps included at no extra cost with their Spectrum service and ad-free versions, which currently ranges from $3 to $10 per month, depending on the app. Customers can upgrade their streaming services using one of the following self-service options:

  • My Spectrum App: Eligible customers can sign up for Spectrum TV Select and upgrade their streaming services using Spectrum's My Spectrum App, the highest-rated support app in the U.S. among all national telecommunications providers.* The app is available for free on iOS and Android devices, and customers can click on the "Manage TV/Streaming" icon to review and choose a preferred upgrade, billing option and payment method.
  • Online: Customers also can manage their Seamless Entertainment streaming services and upgrade to the ad-free versions of the apps by signing into their account at spectrum.net. Customers need only navigate to the services link and then select "TV/Streaming" tab, click on the specific apps they are interested in and follow the steps to choose a preferred upgrade, billing option and payment method.
  • A La Carte Apps: Internet-only customers who are not eligible for the free apps can enjoy their favorite streaming services on an a la carte basis using the same digital tools – My Spectrum App and Spectrum.net – and simply add the apps to their Spectrum account.

On top of these self-service capabilities, Spectrum customers will have even more streaming options in the coming months with the addition of Hulu (With Ads), ESPN's forthcoming streaming service, BET+ Essential and discovery+ at no additional cost.
