3 terms
co-location technical
"Ahead-of-schedule construction of the Aurora Cloud Region and co-location facility."
Co-location is when a trading firm places its computer servers in the same physical data center as an exchange’s matching engine so its orders travel a much shorter distance and face far less delay. For investors, that speed advantage can mean faster trade execution and slightly better prices for firms with co-located systems, which can influence market liquidity, short-term price moves and the fairness of competition among traders.

disaster recovery technical
"in addition to the Dallas disaster recovery facility that has been open for testing since June 2026."
A plan and set of actions a company uses to restore its critical systems, data, facilities and operations after a major disruption such as a natural disaster, cyberattack or infrastructure failure. Investors care because strong disaster recovery reduces the chance of prolonged downtime, unexpected costs and lost revenue — like a business’s emergency backup and repairs that protect value, reputation and future cash flow.
ultra-low latency technical
"the first cloud-based solution for ultra-low latency trading sooner than expected."
Ultra-low latency means reducing the time it takes for market data or an order to travel between systems and be acted on to the smallest possible fraction of a second. For investors, lower delay can mean faster trade execution, smaller price slippage and the ability to capture fleeting price differences—like a sprinter beating others to the finish line—so firms with ultra-low latency systems can gain a measurable edge in competitive trading environments.
