As of Sept. 30, nearly 3,000 crew members are currently mobilized across the Greater Houston area on GHRI and have installed more than 83,500 storm-resilient poles, cleared more than 14,000 miles of higher-risk vegetation to reduce storm-related outages and undergrounded 900 miles of power lines to strengthen overall resiliency. Given the current progress of the company's resiliency efforts, CenterPoint's GHRI program is projected to prevent 150 million customer outage minutes in 2026, while also improving day-to-day reliability.

  • Trimming or removing 14,000+ miles of higher-risk vegetation near power lines to reduce storm-related outages;
  • Installing 850+ automation devices capable of self-healing to reduce the impact of outages and improve restoration times; and
  • Undergrounding 900+ miles of power lines to strengthen overall grid resiliency.
