The deployment of Wi-Fi 7 technology by CommScope and Boldyn Networks at Camping World Stadium represents a significant advancement in wireless connectivity for large venues. The reported 60% increase in throughput and 75% reduction in latency compared to Wi-Fi 6E are noteworthy, as these improvements have the potential to enhance user experience significantly. The application of Wi-Fi 7 is expected to support high-demand applications such as augmented reality and real-time entertainment, which could lead to increased revenue generation from concessions and merchandise.

From a business perspective, the introduction of this technology could set a new standard for stadium connectivity, potentially creating a competitive advantage for CommScope in the telecommunications equipment market. The enhanced capabilities of Wi-Fi 7 could lead to increased demand for CommScope's networking products as other venues seek to upgrade their infrastructure to meet evolving consumer expectations.

With the advent of Wi-Fi 7 technology in a major stadium, there are implications for consumer behavior and spending patterns. Boldyn's study indicating that 81% of event-goers would spend more if ordering was more convenient aligns with broader consumer trends favoring ease of use and personalized experiences. This deployment could stimulate spending on-site, benefiting vendors and the host venue through higher sales volumes. Furthermore, the ability to order from one's seat and receive deliveries could enhance customer satisfaction and encourage repeat visits, contributing to a positive reputation for the venue and potentially increasing ticket sales.

For investors, the focus should be on the potential market expansion for CommScope and Boldyn as other venues and businesses seek to replicate this enhanced connectivity experience. Tracking the adoption rate of Wi-Fi 7 in other venues and the subsequent impact on CommScope's sales and market share will be crucial for assessing the long-term business implications of this technological advancement.

The financial impact of deploying Wi-Fi 7 technology by CommScope and Boldyn Networks could be multifaceted. In the short term, the investment in new infrastructure may increase operational costs for the stadium. However, the potential revenue growth from improved customer experiences and increased on-site spending could offset these initial expenses. In the long term, the adoption of Wi-Fi 7 could lead to a ripple effect where other venues upgrade their systems, thus driving revenue for CommScope and its partners.

Investors should monitor CommScope's financial performance, particularly its revenue from networking solutions, to gauge the success of this deployment. Additionally, changes in the company's market share within the telecommunications sector post-deployment could provide insights into the broader market acceptance of Wi-Fi 7 technology and its impact on CommScope's competitive positioning.

Deployment of AI-driven RUCKUS Technology Marks Initial Wi-Fi 7 Connectivity in a Major Stadium

CLAREMONT, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Together, CommScope (NASDAQ: COMM), a global leader in network connectivity, and Boldyn Networks (Boldyn), a leading neutral host provider in the United States and globally, today announced the deployment of Wi-Fi 7 indoor access points in selected areas of Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida. A 65,000-seat venue, Camping World Stadium is home to world-class events including sporting games and concerts. Initially deployed in press and VIP areas, the RUCKUS® R770 Wi-Fi® access points provide what is believed to be the first Wi-Fi 7 deployment in a major stadium.

“Wi-Fi 7 is the next wave in wireless technology, and we are proud to have delivered it to Camping World Stadium recently. This unlocks tremendous opportunities for an evolved fan experience,” said Christos Karmis, CEO of Boldyn's US business. “With its superior speed, capacity, reliability and low latency, Wi-Fi 7 will undoubtedly revolutionize the way fans engage and experience games and events at Camping World Stadium."

The outcome of deploying the solution shows an increase in throughput by 60% with Wi-Fi 7, reaching 900Mbps, when compared to the areas with Wi-Fi 6E, and over 4 times faster than previous generations, with latency drastically reduced by 75%. This measurable improvement is key to the introduction of new use cases with AR and real-time entertainment and social experiences.

“We are thrilled to have worked with Boldyn on this deployment and what we believe to be the first use of Wi-Fi 7 in a large venue, and just in time for an important game,” stated Bart Giordano, president and SVP, Networking, Intelligent Cellular & Security Solutions, CommScope. Giordano added, “RUCKUS R770 Wi-Fi 7 indoor access points deliver a significant leap forward in stadium connectivity offering ultra-fast, low latency wireless connections with improved capacity and efficiency to support high-demand applications, and it is the perfect solution to delight fans. We have delivered the first enterprise-class, AI-driven Wi-Fi 7 solution on the market and we cannot wait for more users to experience the difference it makes.”

Boldyn’s next-generation networks enable highly engaging fan experiences by delivering robust connectivity for fans, vendors and staff in the stadium. Boldyn’s recent fan connectivity study revealed that 81% of event-goers would spend more money on concessions and merchandise if ordering were more convenient. And an overwhelming majority want to order food and drink (81%) or merchandise (73%) from their seats and have it delivered directly to them.

Boldyn’s deployment of the RUCKUS R770 platform, driven by RUCKUS AI™, a cloud service for network assurance and business intelligence to enhance Wi-Fi 7 network resilience, is instrumental in delivering customer solutions that are fan-first focused. RUCKUS AI simplifies network management by presenting key information to operators, improving network visibility, speeding up problem solving, meeting service level agreements (SLAs) and facilitating a seamless user experience.
