Key Terms

building-envelope technical
The building envelope is the physical barrier between a building's interior and the outside world — walls, roof, windows, doors, insulation and foundations that control weather, temperature, air and moisture flow. For investors, it matters because the quality and efficiency of the envelope affect operating costs, maintenance needs, asset value and regulatory compliance; think of it as a car’s body and seals that determine fuel efficiency and longevity.
single-ply epdm membrane technical
A single-ply EPDM membrane is a flat sheet of synthetic rubber (EPDM) used as a roof covering, applied in one continuous layer rather than multiple built-up layers. Like a large, weatherproof blanket stretched across a roof, it keeps water out and resists UV and temperature changes. Investors care because roofing type affects a building’s maintenance costs, expected lifespan, insurance and capital expenditure timing, which influence property operating expenses and asset value.
stock option grants financial
Stock option grants are promises from a company that give recipients the right to buy a set number of shares at a fixed price after certain conditions are met, often earned over time like installments on a reward. They matter to investors because when exercised they can increase the number of shares outstanding (dilution), affect company expenses and executive incentives, and signal how management is being paid and motivated. Think of them as discounted tickets that employees can use later, which can change the size of the ownership pie.
net-zero greenhouse gas emissions technical
Net-zero greenhouse gas emissions means a company, country, or activity balances the amount of climate-warming gases it releases with the amount it removes or offsets, so the net addition to the atmosphere is zero. Think of it as balancing a checkbook for emissions: all outgoing “charges” are matched by reductions or removals. Investors care because achieving net-zero can affect future costs, regulatory risk, access to capital, consumer demand and long-term asset values.

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Carlisle Companies Incorporated (NYSE:CSL) today launched “Made with America,” a video celebrating America’s 250th anniversary and Carlisle’s own 109-year history as an American manufacturer contributing to the nation’s storied growth and resilience.

Since its founding in 1917, Carlisle has contributed to American innovation, strengthened infrastructure, created jobs, and delivered long-term value while helping power the nation’s growth. Throughout its history, Carlisle pioneered building-envelope industry firsts, including the 1961 installation of Sure-Seal® single-ply EPDM membrane on the rotunda roof at O’Hare International Airport, marking the first use of a protective rubber membrane to waterproof a commercial roof.

“Carlisle’s commitment to growth in America began with our founding in 1917, and for more than a century we’ve grown in step with the people building our country,” said Chris Koch, Chair, President and Chief Executive Officer. “As we celebrate the nation’s 250th anniversary, we honor that shared story and the people who continue to write it.”

“Made with America” brings Carlisle’s American Story of Growth to life through four defining themes:

  • American Innovation: Carlisle has a long history of building-envelope innovations that set new standards for durability, energy efficiency, and ease of installation, helping lower lifecycle costs and extend the life of structures across America.
  • American Infrastructure: From schools and hospitals to manufacturing plants, warehouses, office buildings, and data centers, Carlisle's roofing, insulation, waterproofing, and building-envelope systems help protect the buildings and facilities Americans rely on every day.
  • American Jobs: Carlisle employs nearly 5,000 professionals across 80 U.S. locations and has issued four broad-based employee stock option grants since 2009, giving employees a direct stake in the company’s success. A $125 million R&D center expansion currently under construction will add more than 100 high-paying jobs for PhDs, scientists and engineers.
  • American Value Creation: Carlisle will issue its 50th consecutive annual dividend increase, a milestone reflecting strong cash generation and a commitment to disciplined capital allocation. Through recessions, market cycles, and its transformation into a pure-play building products company, Carlisle has maintained the financial strength needed to invest in growth, innovation, and shareholder returns.

“Made with America” will run across Carlisle’s digital and social channels, at company facilities, and in select media placements over the coming year.
