voluntary protection program (mvpp) regulatory
A voluntary protection program (MVPP) is a company-led, often third-party-verified safety and health initiative where a business adopts higher-than-required workplace safeguards and continuous improvement practices. For investors, it signals lower risk of accidents, fines and shutdowns—similar to a home earning an independent energy-efficiency rating—so it can protect cash flow, reduce unexpected costs, and enhance long-term productivity and reputation.
vpp star program regulatory
VPP Star Program is a government safety recognition for workplaces that meet the highest standards for preventing injuries and illnesses, awarded after a rigorous review of safety systems and performance. For investors, it signals that a company runs predictable, well-managed operations with lower risk of costly accidents, regulatory fines, and production disruptions—similar to an inspection-based seal of reliability that can protect profit and reputation over time.
bureau of labor statistics (bls) regulatory
The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) is the U.S. government agency that collects and publishes data on jobs, wages, prices and productivity—think of it as the economy’s thermometer and scoreboard. Investors watch BLS reports because they signal how healthy consumer demand and the labor market are, influence interest-rate decisions, and often trigger quick market moves when numbers come in above or below expectations.
osha regulatory
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is a U.S. federal agency that sets and enforces workplace safety and health rules, inspects facilities, and issues citations or fines when standards are violated. Think of it as a building inspector for employee safety: its findings can trigger corrective costs, legal liability, operational disruptions, or reputational damage, all of which can affect a company’s expenses, productivity and investor returns.

MIOSHA’s Voluntary Protection Program (MVPP) Star Worksite recognizes Cintas location as a top worksite for health and safety management and practices

MIDLAND, Mich.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- The Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration (MIOSHA) formally honored Cintas Corporation’s (Nasdaq: CTAS) site in Midland, Michigan, as an MVPP Star Worksite-certified location.

The Michigan Voluntary Protection Program (MVPP) is a MIOSHA cooperative initiative that provides a structured framework for evaluating and recognizing strong safety and health management systems through a partnership among management, labor and MIOSHA focused on continuous improvement. Within MVPP, the Michigan Star Program represents the highest level of achievement, recognizing workplaces with exemplary safety and health management systems and injury and illness incidence rates below the industry average for the previous three years.

During the award presentation, Todd Mengeu, the Midland location’s General Manager, accepted the honor on behalf of the team.

“Achieving MVPP Star status is a major accomplishment for our employee-partners,” said Mengeu. “I could not be prouder of our employee‑partners and their unwavering dedication and commitment over the past five years as we worked to achieve the MVPP Star Worksite Award. The continued engagement, focus and determination of our employee-partners to strengthen our safety culture have been nothing short of outstanding. Their ability to collaborate, identify opportunities for improvement and elevate our safety practices has been the key contributing factor in our successful certification. This achievement is a direct reflection of their hard work, passion and shared commitment to ensuring a safe workplace for everyone.”

As the first industrial laundry operation—and the first industrial Cintas location—in the state of Michigan to achieve MVPP Star Worksite status, the Midland operation has laid the groundwork for all other Cintas operations in Michigan to pursue and attain MVPP certification. The commitment demonstrated by the partners at this location has created a model of excellence that others can follow, raising the bar for safety engagement and operational performance across the state.

Achieving MVPP Star Worksite certification is an extensive and highly rigorous process. In Michigan, there are more than 900,000 businesses, yet only 29 have earned MVPP Star Worksite status—underscoring the exceptional nature of this accomplishment. To qualify, organizations must demonstrate that management and employees work collaboratively and proactively to prevent workplace injuries. This is achieved by implementing a comprehensive safety and health management system and consistently maintaining injury and illness rates below the national averages reported by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) for their specific industries.

Participants must be re-evaluated every three to five years to remain in the program.

Cintas’ commitment to OSHA’s VPP Star program has set a new standard for U.S. companies. As of February 2026, 140 Cintas facilities in the United States are VPP Star certified, a total that far exceeds that of any other company.

“Achieving VPP certification takes teamwork and a shared focus on keeping one another healthy and safe,” said Stephen Jenkins, Cintas Vice President of Health & Safety, who oversees the company’s VPP certification process. “Our commitment to excellence pushes us to meet rigorous standards, and we’re proud of our employee-partners for consistently maintaining safe and healthy worksites.”
