BOGOTÁ, Colombia, Oct. 14, 2023 /PRNewswire/ -- Ecopetrol S.A. (BVC: ECOPETROL; NYSE: EC) informs that the Board of Directors, during its meeting held on October 13, 2023, appointed Luis Felipe Rivera as the Vice President of Science, Technology, and Innovation, effective from October 23, 2023.

Dr. Rivera holds a degree in Systems Engineering from Universidad Industrial de Santander, a specialization in Administration from Universidad ICESI, and is currently pursuing an MBA at Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez in Miami. He possesses over 20 years of professional experience across various sectors of the economy, with expertise in the structuring and management of ICT areas, processes, operations, information security, technological innovation, digital transformation, and the implementation of mission-critical and support technology solutions, among other areas. Since 2018, he has been serving as the Director of Information Technology for the Special Jurisdiction for Peace, and will cease to serve as such before joining Ecopetrol S.A.
