NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Equitable Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: EQH), the leading financial services holding company of Equitable, AllianceBernstein and Equitable Advisors, today announced it has named Kurt Meyers as Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary. A six-year veteran of the company, Meyers will lead the law department with responsibility for all legal, compliance, regulatory and governmental affairs at Equitable Holdings. Most recently, he served as Equitable’s Head of Life Insurance, where he led a strategic transformation of the business. Prior to this, Meyers was the company’s Deputy General Counsel, leading several law department practice groups and serving in enterprise leadership roles.

Kurt brings all of this and more to this important position.”

Meyers succeeds José Ramón González, who is leaving Equitable Holdings to pursue new opportunities. “On behalf of the board and senior management, I want to thank José for his dedication and leadership over the last five years. We wish him much success in his next chapter,” said Pearson.

Following Meyers’ appointment, Vincent Xuan has been named the new Head of Life Insurance for Equitable. Xuan is currently serving as Equitable’s Chief Actuary, with responsibility for GAAP, statutory and economic valuation, experience studies, model development and product and reinsurance pricing oversight for the company’s insurance businesses. Xuan brings 20 years of experience in valuation, modeling, pricing and enterprise risk management to this position. He previously served as Chief Actuary and Chief Risk Officer at Prosperity Life Group and held various senior leadership roles at Prudential.
