Transactions Expand ORS’s North American Welding Platform and Broaden Its Janitorial and Facility Supplies Offering

ROSEMONT, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- ORS Nasco ("ORS"), a wholesaler of industrial maintenance, repair, and operations products and a portfolio company of Wynnchurch Capital, L.P. ("Wynnchurch"), today announced the acquisitions of Techniweld & PowerWeld and the Boardwalk, GEN, and Windsoft proprietary brands from Essendant, a portfolio company of Sycamore Partners.

Techniweld is a Canadian wholesaler of welding products serving distributors with gas and arc welding equipment, filler metals, safety products, and related accessories. Techniweld also operates in the U.S. under the PowerWeld brand. The acquisition complements ORS’s 2026 acquisition of Alliance Distribution and its 2025 acquisition of Techniweld USA, further expanding ORS’s welding presence across North America.

Boardwalk offers a broad portfolio of JanSan, industrial, and foodservice products; GEN provides value-oriented products for restaurants, airports, shopping centers, and other high-volume facilities; and Windsoft focuses on towel and tissue products. ORS was previously owned by Essendant before being carved out in 2019. The acquisition therefore marks a notable connection to ORS’s history while representing another corporate carve-out for ORS and Wynnchurch. Together, these brands broaden ORS’s offering across janitorial, sanitation, paper, and foodservice categories.
