Sentiment and the balance of points

Rhea-AI Sentiment reads the wording of the document, how positive or negative its language is on a 1 to 5 scale. The balance of points shown with the takes weighs what the document actually discloses, so the two can disagree, for example when a trial that missed its main goal is described in upbeat language.

Heliostar Metals (HSTXF) has submitted environmental permit applications to Mexico’s environmental authority, SEMARNAT, for its Ana Paula underground mine project.

The submissions comprise an Environmental Impact Statement and an Environmental Risk Study. Proposed surface disturbance is approximately 65% lower than under the previously approved open pit plan. The design removes the open pit footprint, reduces the waste rock dump and processing plant, and incorporates dry-stack tailings and underground paste backfill. Existing permits were brought into compliance, and design work for the upcoming Feasibility Study was completed. Heliostar plans a construction decision in mid-2027 and expects approximately 1,500 initial construction jobs and another 600 permanent operating positions, primarily sourced locally.

How this balance works

Rhea-AI gives every point it takes from this document a weight. Minor counts 1, Moderate 3 and Major 9, so one Major point outweighs several Minor ones. The bar adds up the weights on each side, and when neither side holds more than 65% of the total the balance reads Mixed.

It reads the document as published, with the same rules for every company, and it does not look at what the market expected or at how the stock traded, so a point can be objectively good on a day the stock falls.

Rhea-AI Sentiment measures something else, the tone of the wording.

Vancouver, British Columbia--(Newsfile Corp. - October 13, 2026) - Heliostar Metals Ltd. (TSX: HSTR) (OTCQX: HSTXF) (FSE: RGG1) ("Heliostar" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that the Company has submitted key environmental permit applications for the Ana Paula underground project. These consist of an Environmental Impact Statement (MIA-R) and an Environmental Risk Study (ERA) submitted to the Secretariat of Environment and Natural Resources (SEMARNAT).

Based on the MIA-R submission to construct an underground mine, the amount of proposed surface disturbance is reduced by approximately 65% compared to the previously approved open pit mine plan. This is achieved by removing the open pit footprint, decreasing the size of the waste rock dump, reducing the size of the processing plant, adjusting its location, adopting dry-stack tailings designed to conform to industry-leading practices, and using tailings as paste backfill for the underground.

Charles Funk, CEO, comments: "The submission of this permit application is another key milestone towards a construction decision for Ana Paula. This process required bringing the existing permits into compliance and completing the design work for the upcoming Feasibility Study on the project. Heliostar is committed to meeting the high standards expected by our local communities, shareholders and those required by the Mexican government. This builds on our recent track record of both restarting and obtaining permits for mine life extensions at both of our currently operating mines. The Ana Paula construction decision is planned for mid-2027. A mine at Ana Paula is expected to create approximately 1,500 construction jobs initially, and the ongoing operation of that mine will create another 600 permanent positions, primarily sourced from our local area. We believe it also has the potential to drive a re-rating of the Company's share price as we deliver a material step-up in Heliostar's production profile."
