Automation, distributed enterprises, changing expectations shape use of unified management platforms, ISG Provider Lens® report says

STAMFORD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Enterprises worldwide are embracing AI and automation features in digital workplace platforms to enhance productivity, security and employee experience, according to a new research report published today by Information Services Group (ISG) (Nasdaq: III), a global AI-centered technology research and advisory firm.

The 2025 ISG Provider Lens® global Future of Work — Solutions report finds enterprises are accelerating adoption of AI-enabled workplace platforms to support hybrid work, improve collaboration and strengthen endpoint management. AI initiatives are beginning to move from experimentation to integration, with enterprises seeking measurable gains in productivity, resilience and compliance.

“Organizations are aligning digital workplace strategies with new employee expectations,” said Bill Huber, ISG partner, Digital Platforms and Solutions. “The rise of hybrid work and the proliferation of AI tools are reshaping the way organizations approach IT management.”

Enterprise IT leaders are prioritizing autonomous operations, real-time observability and employee-centric design, the report says. This approach reflects the need to support both productivity and resilience across distributed work environments. Endpoint security and device management are increasingly integrated into unified workplace platforms for greater control and improved outcomes.

The digital employee experience (DEX) market is expanding rapidly, fueled by enterprise demand for proactive IT management, sentiment analytics and sustainable infrastructure, ISG says. Organizations are turning to platforms that combine predictive analytics, real-time feedback and automated response capabilities to address user needs more effectively. These systems allow companies to monitor experience-level agreements, optimize IT support and provide consistent performance across hybrid environments.

In 2026, ISG expects a general shift in AI workplace initiatives from pilot projects to full-scale deployments, the report says. Companies will integrate AI more deeply into IT service management, unified endpoint management and collaboration platforms. Intelligent platforms now include self-healing systems, predictive diagnostics and virtual assistants. At the same time, enterprises face challenges from shadow AI, including security and compliance risks, as employees adopt unsanctioned tools. This is prompting companies to implement training programs and stricter frameworks for responsible AI use.

“AI-enabled workplace platforms are no longer optional. They are becoming foundational,” said Bruce Guptill, lead author of the report. “Enterprises that can embed automation and ensure responsible AI use will lead in the years ahead.”

The report also explores other global workplace technology trends, including the expected growth of outcome-based pricing models for automation tools and the influence of green IT initiatives on device lifecycle planning.
