Analysis

The stock moved -5.8% in the session following this news. A negative reaction despite a concrete $580,000 hospital purchase order would fit a recent pattern where positive contracts and strategic steps sometimes preceded price declines. Investors have seen several upbeat updates followed by selling pressure. In that context, a drop could reflect broader concerns about funding needs under the existing $75,000,000 shelf, past dilution mechanisms, or skepticism about how quickly single-site ART100 wins scale into a larger revenue base.

4 terms
fda-cleared regulatory
"for the Company’s FDA-cleared ART100 extracorporeal blood circulation systems"
FDA-cleared means a medical product—typically a device or diagnostic—has passed a U.S. regulator’s review showing it is substantially similar to an existing approved product and is safe and effective for its intended use. For investors, clearance acts like an official safety stamp that lowers regulatory risk and can speed market access, comparable to getting a trusted roadworthy certificate before selling cars, which can make sales and adoption happen faster.
extracorporeal blood circulation systems medical
"for the Company’s FDA-cleared ART100 extracorporeal blood circulation systems"
Medical device systems that temporarily move a patient’s blood outside the body to perform tasks such as oxygenating, filtering or pumping it before returning it, acting like an external heart-lung or blood-cleaning engine during surgery, intensive care or dialysis. Investors pay attention because these systems serve critical, repeatable hospital needs, have steady replacement and consumable markets, and are subject to regulation and innovation that can drive sales, costs and risk.
cardiopulmonary bypass procedures medical
"extracorporeal blood circulation system intended for use in cardiopulmonary bypass procedures"
A set of surgical techniques that use a heart‑lung machine to temporarily take over the work of the heart and lungs during open‑chest operations, keeping blood circulating and oxygenated while surgeons operate. Investors care because these procedures drive demand for specialized devices, disposable supplies and hospital services, and changes in safety, costs, or regulation can meaningfully affect the revenue and adoption prospects of medical device makers and healthcare providers.
extracorporeal support medical
"search for the future of extracorporeal support through innovation and cost-effective technology"
Extracorporeal support is a medical technique that temporarily takes over the work of a failing organ—most commonly the heart or lungs—by routing a patient’s blood through an external machine that oxygenates, removes carbon dioxide, or pumps circulation. Investors care because the market for the machines, disposable supplies, and clinical services depends on clinical success, regulatory clearance, and hospital adoption; think of it like a critical backup generator whose reliability and cost shape demand and company value.

RA'ANANA, Israel, May 18, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Inspira Technologies Oxy B.H.N. Ltd. (Nasdaq: IINN, IINNW) ("Inspira" or the "Company") today announced that it has received a $580,000 commercial purchase order from NYU Langone Hospital in New York City (“NYU Langone”) for the Company’s FDA-cleared ART100 extracorporeal blood circulation systems. The order was placed through Inspira’s U.S. distributor following the successful completion of a multi-patient clinical evaluation at the hospital, and the systems are scheduled for immediate fulfillment. This commercial milestone is in parallel with the Company’s previously disclosed active strategic process involving the ART100 platform and broader medical assets.

The purchase order follows the successful completion of an extensive hospital-based clinical evaluation, during which ART100 systems were deployed in the treatment of more than 30 patients across a broad range of cardiopulmonary and surgical cases. The evaluation provided NYU Langone with direct operational experience integrating the ART100 platform into the hospital workflows and led directly to the hospital’s decision to transition from clinical assessment to commercial procurement.

“NYU Langone’s transition from hospital-based evaluation to commercial purchase reflects the operational value of the ART100 platform in real hospital use,” said Mike Hershkovitz, VP of Global Sales at Inspira Technologies. “This order provides an important hospital reference as we continue commercial discussions with additional U.S. and international hospital systems evaluating extracorporeal support technologies.”

“Our search for the future of extracorporeal support through innovation and cost-effective technology led us to Inspira,” said Fred Hill, Director of Extracorporeal Technology at NYU Langone Hospital. “The ART100 demonstrated the type of flexibility, usability, and economic potential we believe will be important for the future of extracorporeal support.”

NYU Langone is part of NYU Langone Health, a nationally recognized academic health system named to the 2025–2026 U.S. News & World Report “Best Hospitals” Honor Roll and ranked No. 1 in the United States in multiple specialties, including cardiology, heart and vascular surgery, pulmonology and lung surgery, neurology and neurosurgery, and geriatrics.

The ART100 is a U.S. FDA-cleared extracorporeal blood circulation system intended for use in cardiopulmonary bypass procedures. The system is currently active and under evaluation at additional U.S. hospitals. As previously disclosed, Inspira is advancing an active strategic process involving multiple counterparties regarding potential transactions involving the ART100 system and additional medical assets. The Company believes the purchase order from NYU Langone provides an important commercial reference point within this process.
