5 terms
lidar technical
"Innoviz's LiDAR technology into AeroNous Solutions Ltd.'s open-architecture"
Lidar, which stands for Light Detection and Ranging, is a technology that uses laser beams to create detailed, three-dimensional maps of the environment. It works like a sophisticated eye that measures distances by bouncing light off objects, helping machines see and understand their surroundings. For investors, lidar is important because it enables advancements in autonomous vehicles, robotics, and mapping, which can drive innovation and growth in related industries.
counter-uas technical
"platform for counter-UAS operations."
Counter-UAS (counter-unmanned aircraft systems) are tools and tactics used to detect, track, and disable or divert drones that pose a threat to people, property, or operations. Think of them as a combination of a security camera, alarm system, and net that can find an unwanted flying device and stop it before it causes harm. Investors care because demand, regulation, and deployment of these systems affect revenue, contract opportunities, legal risk, and the valuation of companies that build or use them.
command-and-control technical
"into AeroNous' open-architecture command-and-control platform for detecting"
"Command-and-control" describes a system where authority is centralized, and decisions are made by a single leader or a small group that directs how activities are carried out. In financial or organizational contexts, it means strict oversight and top-down management, leaving little room for individual discretion. For investors, it highlights how power and decision-making influence the stability, efficiency, and flexibility of an organization or market.
open-architecture technical
"Innoviz's LiDAR technology into AeroNous Solutions Ltd.'s open-architecture command-and-control"
Open-architecture describes a system or platform built to work with products and services from many different providers rather than only one supplier. For investors, it matters because open designs tend to attract more partners and customers, encourage innovation and price competition, and make it easier for a company to add new features or switch vendors — all factors that can boost revenue potential and reduce reliance on a single source of growth or supply.
3d localization technical
"Integration brings centimeter-level 3D localization into AeroNous' open-architecture"
3D localization means pinpointing the exact position of a structure or object inside the body in three-dimensional space, using imaging or tracking systems—think of it like a GPS for organs, tumors, or surgical tools. For investors, it matters because more accurate localization can reduce surgical risk, improve treatment success, and make devices or software more attractive to doctors and regulators, which can boost adoption and commercial value.

Integration brings centimeter-level 3D localization into AeroNous' open-architecture command-and-control platform for detecting, tracking, and responding to aerial threats

TEL AVIV, Israel, July 8, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Innoviz Technologies Ltd. (NASDAQ: INVZ) (the "Company" or "Innoviz"), a leading supplier of high-performance, automotive-grade LiDAR sensor platforms, today announced a collaboration to integrate Innoviz's LiDAR technology into AeroNous Solutions Ltd.'s open-architecture command-and-control platform for counter-UAS operations. AeroNous builds systems that unify sensors, effectors, and third-party data sources into a single operational picture for detecting, tracking, and responding to aerial threats, and the company identified continuous, precise drone localization as a critical capability for that picture. Following an evaluation of available sensing technologies, AeroNous selected Innoviz's existing LiDAR products as the solution best suited to close that gap.

By integrating Innoviz's centimeter-level 3D localization into its command-and-control architecture, AeroNous will be able to provide operators with a continuous, high-confidence position on aerial threats, even as they move through cluttered or contested environments. As part of the Israel Shipyards Industries Group, AeroNous intends to extend this capability across defense, homeland security, critical infrastructure, and maritime security deployments.

"Accurate localization is a critical component of effective counter-UAS operations. As drone threats become increasingly sophisticated, operators require precise and reliable tracking capabilities to support timely and informed responses. Our collaboration with Innoviz reflects AeroNous' commitment to evaluating and integrating the most effective technologies available to enhance operational performance and deliver greater value to our customers," said Meir Ben-Shaya Founder & CEO of AeroNous. "

"AeroNous' command-and-control systems are only as effective as the position data feeding them," said Omer Keilaf, Founder & CEO of Innoviz. "Our LiDAR gives operators a precise, continuously updated 3D coordinate on a threat, not an estimate. Bringing that into AeroNous' open-architecture platform strengthens the operational picture from detection through response."
