U.S. Cyber Command selects Leidos for full-spectrum cyber operations

The five-year award covers both offensive and defensive cyber operations and support for the Department of War Information Network.

Sentiment and the balance of points

Rhea-AI Sentiment reads the wording of the document, how positive or negative its language is on a 1 to 5 scale. The balance of points shown with the takes weighs what the document actually discloses, so the two can disagree, for example when a trial that missed its main goal is described in upbeat language.

How this balance works

Rhea-AI gives every point it takes from this document a weight. Minor counts 1, Moderate 3 and Major 9, so one Major point outweighs several Minor ones. The bar adds up the weights on each side, and when neither side holds more than 65% of the total the balance reads Mixed.

It reads the document as published, with the same rules for every company, and it does not look at what the market expected or at how the stock traded, so a point can be objectively good on a day the stock falls.

Rhea-AI Sentiment measures something else, the tone of the wording.

The five-year award includes integration and coordination of offensive and defensive cyber operations, including operational support to secure, operate and defend the Department of War Information Network in cyberspace.

"Cyberspace operations demand speed, deep technical expertise and an understanding of how adversaries operate," said Jason O'Connor, president of Leidos Intelligence. "Our team, comprised of the full-suite of Leidos cyber including the recently acquired Kudu Dynamics, will bring those capabilities together to support U.S. Cyber Command's mission. We're focused on ensuring our nation's cyber forces are prepared to operate in an increasingly contested environment."

Leidos will provide cyber defense, operational planning, emerging threat analysis and support for developing tactics, techniques and procedures. The work will help U.S. Cyber Command coordinate and synchronize full-spectrum cyber operations across mission partners.

The award advances Leidos' NorthStar 2030 strategy, with cyber as a key growth driver and an increasingly critical component of how the U.S. military competes and conducts modern warfare across domains.
