Sentiment and the balance of points

Rhea-AI Sentiment reads the wording of the document, how positive or negative its language is on a 1 to 5 scale. The balance of points shown with the takes weighs what the document actually discloses, so the two can disagree, for example when a trial that missed its main goal is described in upbeat language.

LiqTech International (Nasdaq: LIQT) secured an order from Shanghai Qiyao Environmental Technology for two marine engine water treatment units.

Delivery is scheduled for December 2026. The units serve intelligent control by exhaust recycling (iCER) applications, where water cools and cleans exhaust gas before some gas returns to the engine. This is the customer's first purchase of LiqTech iCER systems, extending a relationship previously focused on marine scrubber water treatment. LiqTech's China joint venture supports local engineering, sourcing, assembly and service, while core silicon carbide membranes remain manufactured in Denmark.

exhaust gas recirculation technical
"four exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) water treatment systems"
Exhaust gas recirculation is an engine system that routes a portion of a vehicle’s exhaust back into the combustion chamber to lower peak temperatures and reduce formation of nitrogen oxides (NOx). Think of it like recycling a bit of hot air to cool a stove so it burns cleaner; it helps automakers meet emissions rules but can affect fuel efficiency, engine wear, maintenance needs and compliance costs—factors important to investors monitoring product competitiveness, regulatory risk and service spending.
microfiltration technical
"for both microfiltration and ultrafiltration applications"
A pressure-driven membrane filtration process that separates suspended solids, particulates and most microorganisms from a liquid by passing it through a porous membrane with pore sizes typically in the ~0.1–10 micrometer range (commercial applications commonly use 0.1–0.45 µm). It is used for clarification and particulate removal in pharmaceutical, biotech and industrial liquids; because its pores are relatively large compared with ultrafiltration or nanofiltration, microfiltration does not remove dissolved salts, small molecules or most viruses and therefore is not a substitute for sterilizing or molecular filtration. Common operating modes are dead-end (batch) and crossflow (continuous), both relying on a pressure differential to drive liquid through the membrane while particles are retained and periodically flushed or backwashed.
ultrafiltration technical
"for both microfiltration and ultrafiltration applications"
Ultrafiltration is a process that separates small particles and liquids from larger molecules or substances using a filter with tiny pores. It is often used in water treatment and medical applications to remove impurities or excess fluids. For investors, understanding ultrafiltration is important because innovations or changes in this technology can impact industries focused on clean water, healthcare, and filtration products.

BALLERUP, Denmark, Oct. 20, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- LiqTech International, Inc. (Nasdaq: LIQT) (“LiqTech” or the “Company”), a clean technology company specializing in advanced filtration technologies, today announced an order from Shanghai Qiyao Environmental Technology Co. Ltd. for two water treatment units for intelligent control by exhaust recycling (iCER) marine engine applications. Delivery is scheduled for December 2026.

The order marks Shanghai QiYao Environmental Technology first purchase of LiqTech iCER water treatment systems and expands an existing relationship previously focused on marine scrubber water treatment. It follows LiqTech’s other recent marine orders since its JV in China established in November 2024, including scrubber water treatment units in May 2025, dual-fuel engine water treatment systems announced in November 2025, and four exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) water treatment systems announced in June 2026.

“This order is an important example of how we can expand established marine customer relationships into additional applications,” said Fei Chen, President and Chief Executive Officer of LiqTech. “Our investments in adapting our silicon carbide membrane technology for iCER and EGR systems are broadening our addressable market. We see opportunities to build a more diversified and repeatable marine business as customers adopt new engine technologies.”

In iCER applications, water is used to cool and clean exhaust gas before part of the gas is recirculated into the engine. Soot, oil, and other contaminants must be removed from the circulating water. LiqTech’s water treatment units use proprietary silicon carbide ceramic membranes to separate these contaminants and support water reuse and reliable system operation.

LiqTech’s silicon carbide membranes combine fine-particle filtration with chemical resistance, temperature tolerance, and mechanical durability suited to demanding marine environments. The Company’s experience from more than 170 marine scrubber installations provides an established foundation as it extends its offering to iCER and EGR applications.

LiqTech’s joint venture in China supports local engineering, sourcing, assembly, and service, while core silicon carbide membranes continue to be manufactured in Denmark. This operating model is intended to improve responsiveness to customers and shipyards in the region.

“Our local presence in China enables closer coordination with customers throughout specification, delivery, and service,” Chen added. “Combined with our filtration expertise, it supports our strategy to deepen existing relationships and pursue additional opportunities across scrubber, iCER, and EGR applications.”
