--- FLUORO-SORB® is CETCO’s proprietary, industry-leading adsorptive media for the removal of PFAS from drinking water, landfill leachate, wastewater, and contaminated soil and groundwater ---
NEW YORK, Sept. 01, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- CETCO, a Minerals Technologies Inc. (NYSE: MTX) (“MTI”) company, today announced that its FLUORO-SORB® adsorbent was named a 2026 recipient of the Water Environment Federation (WEF) Innovative Technology Award. This prestigious award recognizes WEF members who have introduced outstanding new products or services for the water industry and honors CETCO’s leadership, dedication, and contributions to the water community.
CETCO’s proprietary, bentonite-based FLUORO-SORB® adsorbent technology remediates per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), also known as “forever chemicals,” in drinking water, landfill leachate, wastewater, and contaminated soil and groundwater.
“We are greatly honored to be among this year’s honorees of the WEF Innovative Technology Award,” said Barry Shadrix, CETCO’s Global Director of Water and Remediation. “PFAS contamination is a critical issue affecting millions of households, municipalities, and institutions, and we are proud that our FLUORO-SORB® adsorbent is part of the remediation solution globally.”
FLUORO-SORB® has a proven track record of helping municipalities and organizations achieve their PFAS remediation goals effectively and cost-efficiently, as it allows for lower-capital installations, low change-out frequency, and very high capacity. It easily fits into existing remediation systems, is specifically formulated to bind across the entire spectrum of PFAS, and can be used as a flow-through filtration media, in a permeable reactive barrier, in situ stabilization, soil solidification, and sediment capping.
FLUORO-SORB® is commercially available, has been installed in numerous full-scale applications, and has been vetted by leading research universities and numerous field pilot studies that determined it to be a highly effective treatment medium. All FLUORO-SORB® adsorbent products are NSF/ANSI/CAN Standard 61-certified.
