The agreement connects Niki’s accredited testing platform with a multi-site clinical research network conducting Alzheimer’s trials.

Sentiment and the balance of points

Rhea-AI Sentiment reads the wording of the document, how positive or negative its language is on a 1 to 5 scale. The balance of points shown with the takes weighs what the document actually discloses, so the two can disagree, for example when a trial that missed its main goal is described in upbeat language.

"perform apolipoprotein E (APOE) genotyping for Charter Research"
APOE genotyping is a laboratory test that reads a person’s DNA to determine which versions (alleles) of the APOE gene they carry, commonly labeled ε2, ε3, or ε4. It matters to investors because those gene variants influence risk and progression of neurological and lipid-related conditions, affecting demand for diagnostics, the design and outcomes of clinical trials, regulatory decisions, and market potential for targeted therapies—think of it as identifying which recipe variant a patient has before choosing a treatment.

Agreement brings CAP and NYS CLEP-approved genotyping test to a multi-site Alzheimer’s clinical research network

PRINCETON, NJ, NEW HAVEN, CT and ORLANDO, FL, Oct. 23, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Niki BioSolutions, Inc. (NASDAQ: NIKI), a life sciences company focused on addressing unmet medical needs through advanced genomic and biomarker testing, today announced that DiamiR Biosciences, its wholly owned subsidiary, has signed an agreement to perform apolipoprotein E (APOE) genotyping for Charter Research, a multi-site clinical research organization that conducts trials in Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, metabolic liver disease, psychiatric conditions, and weight management.

The APOE gene is among the most studied genetic risk factors in neurodegeneration, and APOE status is increasingly used to inform eligibility, safety monitoring, and risk stratification in Alzheimer’s disease trials. It also carries relevance for cardiovascular and lipid-related research. Under the agreement, Charter Research’s sites will be able to use Niki BioSolutions’ testing platform, which is accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP) and approved by the New York State Clinical Laboratory Evaluation Program (CLEP), to bring validated genotyping results into their trial operations.

Charter Research operates research centers in Orlando and The Villages, Florida, and in Chicago, Illinois, and has served as an investigative site for late-stage Alzheimer’s disease programs. The agreement pairs that site network with a laboratory partner equipped to deliver the genetic data that modern Alzheimer’s protocols increasingly require.

“APOE status has moved from a research target to a practical necessity in Alzheimer’s trials. It informs who enrolls, how participants are monitored, and how results are interpreted, making it a routine but critical step in how these studies are designed and run,” said Alidad Mireskandari, Ph.D., President and COO of Niki BioSolutions. “We are pleased to support Charter Research’s investigators and the study participants at their centers, and we see this agreement as another step in building Niki BioSolutions into a trusted testing resource for serious disease research”.
