4 terms
infrared windows technical
"awarded a new contract for infrared windows"
A piece of material designed to transmit infrared (heat) radiation while blocking or withstanding other environmental effects; used as the optical "window" in cameras, sensors, industrial instruments and medical devices so the detector can see thermal or IR signals without exposure or contamination. Investors care because the choice of material, size and coating affects device performance, manufacturing cost, durability and which markets or applications a maker can serve — like picking the right glass for a camera lens but for heat instead of visible light.
infrared coatings technical
"back into the infrared coatings market"
Thin, engineered layers deposited on surfaces to control how objects absorb, reflect or transmit infrared (heat) radiation; they are used on glass, lenses, sensors, fabrics and metal parts to manage heat, improve sensor performance or reduce thermal signature. They matter to investors because these coatings can change a product’s energy efficiency, durability and sensing capability—like putting specialized sunglasses on a building or camera—so demand and margins for companies that make or use them can affect revenues across construction, automotive, defense and electronics markets.
prime contractor technical
"first award from a prime contractor"
A prime contractor is the main company awarded a contract and legally responsible for delivering the agreed goods or services and for managing any subcontractors. For investors, the prime contractor is where revenue and risk concentrate: it controls payment flow, bears performance and compliance risk, and its ability to meet contract terms affects cash flow, future contract wins, and reputation—think of it as the general contractor on a construction site who coordinates others and is judged by the final result.
iso 9001:2015 regulatory
"an ISO 9001:2015 certified concern"
ISO 9001:2015 is an international standard for a company's quality management system, describing a structured set of practices that help organizations consistently meet customer expectations and improve processes. For investors, an ISO 9001:2015 certification is like a verified recipe or checklist showing the company follows disciplined procedures to reduce mistakes, control costs, and protect reputation, which can lower operational risk and support steady performance.
