Pega appoints financial services security executive to oversee security strategy and implementation

WALTHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Pegasystems Inc. (NASDAQ: PEGA), the enterprise AI software company for mission-critical work, today announced it has appointed Sean Croston as chief information security officer. Mr. Croston will be responsible for comprehensive information security standards and policies.

Sean Croston Joins Pega As Chief Information Security Officer

Mr. Croston joins Pega with more than 30 years of experience in cybersecurity, information security, risk management, fraud prevention, and financial services technology. He will oversee Pega’s information security strategy and implementation, including risk management programs spanning information security, physical security, business continuity, crisis management, privacy, and compliance. Mr. Croston will work closely with the company’s product development, IT, compliance, and cloud teams to help safeguard Pega’s global assets and maintain a best-in-class security environment for clients.

Most recently, Mr. Croston served as chief information security officer at USAA and previously held CISO leadership roles at Truist, BNP Paribas/Bank of the West, and Santander US. Earlier in his career, Sean held senior leadership positions at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, State Street, JPMorgan Chase, and several technology startups, where he helped drive security strategy, regulatory compliance, risk management, and digital transformation initiatives across global organizations.

Mr. Croston received a Bachelor of Science from Bentley University in Waltham, Mass., where he will be based at Pega’s headquarters. He is a published author and co-patent holder in the security space. He has also been a speaker and panelist at regulatory and industry events throughout his career.
