Q32 Bio Reports Third Quarter 2026 Financial Results and Provides Corporate Update
An approximately $200.0 million gross offering added funding, while quarterly research and administrative expenses increased year over year.
Sentiment and the balance of points
Rhea-AI Sentiment reads the wording of the document, how positive or negative its language is on a 1 to 5 scale. The balance of points shown with the takes weighs what the document actually discloses, so the two can disagree, for example when a trial that missed its main goal is described in upbeat language.
Rhea-AI Summary
Q32 Bio (Nasdaq: QTTB) reported third-quarter financial results and outlined plans to advance bempikibart into a registration-directed alopecia areata program. Quarterly net loss was $8.922 million, versus $7.389 million a year earlier, while loss per share narrowed to $0.26 from $0.60. Cash and cash equivalents reached $289.6 million at September 30 following a July offering raising approximately $200.0 million gross.
In the open-label Phase 2a SIGNAL-AA Part B trial, the prespecified modified analysis showed a 35.3% mean reduction in scalp hair-loss scores at Week 36. Responses were maintained or deepened during 16 weeks off treatment, with no new safety signals. Q32 expects registration-directed development to start in 1H 2027, subject to fourth-quarter regulatory discussions, and extension data in 2H 2027. It believes available cash can fund operations through planned Phase 3 topline results.
How this balance works
Rhea-AI gives every point it takes from this document a weight. Minor counts 1, Moderate 3 and Major 9, so one Major point outweighs several Minor ones. The bar adds up the weights on each side, and when neither side holds more than 65% of the total the balance reads Mixed.
It reads the document as published, with the same rules for every company, and it does not look at what the market expected or at how the stock traded, so a point can be objectively good on a day the stock falls.
Rhea-AI Sentiment measures something else, the tone of the wording.

"The third quarter brought continued momentum for Q32 Bio and our bempikibart program. We shared encouraging SIGNAL-AA Part B results in late-breaking oral and poster presentations at EADV, highlighting bempikibart's clinically meaningful efficacy data at Week 36 and ability to induce durable responses that were maintained or deepened through the 16-week off-drug period, supporting the potential for less frequent, chronic maintenance dosing," said Jodie Morrison, Chief Executive Officer of Q32 Bio. "We believe our data demonstrates the potential for bempikibart to become a first-line standard of care option for patients with alopecia areata. We are pleased to welcome José and Ellie to lead the advancement of bempikibart into late-stage development and have made key senior appointments spanning clinical operations, clinical strategy and medical affairs, and regulatory affairs. With a strong balance sheet, we believe we are well positioned to rapidly advance into a registration-directed program in severe or very severe alopecia areata in the first half of 2027 following planned regulatory discussions this quarter, as well as in other autoimmune and inflammatory indications."
Third Quarter 2026 and Recent Business Highlights
- Presented additional 36-week results and 16-week off-drug findings from Part B of the SIGNAL-AA clinical trial at EADV Congress 2026. In September 2026, Q32 Bio presented results from Part B of the SIGNAL-AA Phase 2a clinical trial in a late-breaking oral presentation and a poster presentation at the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology ("EADV") Congress 2026 in
Vienna, Austria . Part B is an open-label clinical trial evaluating bempikibart, a fully human anti-IL-7Rα antibody designed to re-regulate adaptive immune function by blocking IL-7 and TSLP signaling, in 33 patients with severe or very severe AA. Patients are treated with bempikibart for 36 weeks followed by a 16-week off-drug follow-up period before optional enrollment in the open-label extension ("OLE"). In Part B at Week 36, bempikibart demonstrated clinically meaningful efficacy data on the primary endpoint with a mean percent reduction in Severity of Alopecia Tool ("SALT") score from baseline of35.3% in the prespecified modified intent-to-treat ("mITT") analysis. Additionally,40.0% of patients achieved a SALT-20 (80% of scalp hair coverage) response at Week 36 in the mITT analysis and30.3% of patients achieved a SALT-20 response at Week 36 in the intent-to-treat ("ITT") analysis of all enrolled patients. In the 16-week off-drug follow-up period, bempikibart demonstrated robust durability, including maintenance and deepening of response, supportive of less frequent, chronic maintenance dosing after an initial treatment period. Biomarker results and biopsy findings supported bempikibart's mechanism of action, and bempikibart was generally well-tolerated, consistent with prior studies, with no new safety signals. Q32 Bio previously announced topline results from Part B of SIGNAL-AA in July 2026.
- SIGNAL-AA Part B OLE remains ongoing. Following completion of the Part B 36-week treatment period and 16-week off-drug follow-up period, eligible patients enrolled in the Part B OLE. Dosing remains ongoing in the OLE. Analysis from the Part B 16-week off-drug follow-up period and OLE will help inform long-term chronic maintenance regimens, which could include monthly, bi-monthly or quarterly dosing, which will be evaluated in future studies. Q32 Bio anticipates data from the Part B OLE in the second half of 2027.
- Registration-directed program evaluating bempikibart in patients with severe or very severe AA expected to initiate in the first half of 2027 and additional development opportunities being evaluated. Q32 Bio plans to advance bempikibart into a registration-directed program for patients with severe or very severe AA in the first half of 2027 subject to planned regulatory discussions in the fourth quarter of 2026. Additionally, based on clinical results as well as changes on biomarkers supportive of bempikibart's bifunctional mechanism, Q32 Bio is evaluating opportunities for bempikibart in expanded AA populations as well as in additional immunology and inflammation ("I&I") indications.
- Strengthened leadership team including appointments of Chief Medical Officer and Chief Development Officer, as well as key senior leaders overseeing clinical operations, clinical strategy and medical affairs and regulatory affairs. In September 2026, Q32 Bio appointed José Trevejo, M.D., Ph.D., as Chief Medical Officer and Ellie Hershberger, Pharm.D., as Chief Development Officer. Dr. Trevejo is a physician-scientist and biotechnology executive with over 20 years of experience spanning dermatology and late-stage clinical development. Dr. Hershberger is a drug development leader with over 30 years of experience spanning late-stage development operations and regulatory strategy. In addition to the appointments of Dr. Trevejo and Dr. Hershberger, Q32 Bio has continued to build out its team with key clinical operations, clinical strategy and medical affairs and regulatory affairs appointments.
- Half-life extended fully human anti-IL-7Rα program, ADX-914-XL, continues in preclinical development. Developed using half-life extension technology, ADX-914-XL is designed to provide the clinical activity and safety profile observed to date with bempikibart while offering an extended dosing schedule.
- Completed
public offering. In July 2026, Q32 Bio completed a public offering of common stock and pre-funded warrants, raising gross proceeds of approximately$200.0 million , before deducting underwriting discounts and commissions and offering expenses payable by Q32 Bio.$200.0 million

FAQ
AI-generated questions and answers. How Rhea-AI works. Not financial advice.
What did Q32 Bio's SIGNAL-AA Part B trial show at Week 36?
Bempikibart produced a 35.3% mean reduction from baseline in the Severity of Alopecia Tool score, a scalp hair-loss measure, in the prespecified modified intent-to-treat analysis. A SALT-20 response, representing 80% scalp hair coverage, occurred in 40.0% of that analysis group and 30.3% of all enrolled patients.
When does Q32 Bio expect to start its bempikibart registration-directed program?
Q32 expects to begin the program for severe or very severe alopecia areata in the first half of 2027, subject to planned regulatory discussions in the fourth quarter of 2026.
What maintenance dosing schedules is Q32 Bio considering for bempikibart?
Potential long-term maintenance regimens could include monthly, bi-monthly or quarterly dosing, to be evaluated in future studies. Analysis of the 16-week off-drug follow-up and ongoing open-label extension will help inform those regimens; these schedules are not established treatment regimens.
