PARIS, Sept. 14, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Satellogic Inc. (NASDAQ: SATL), the infrastructure company for Persistent Global Intelligence (PGI), today confirmed that its flight software ran the maneuvers behind the second phase of HEO's Rendezvous and Proximity Operations (RPO) campaign, in which an Earth observation satellite held position around a derelict CZ-2C rocket body, the spent structural upper stage left behind in orbit after the launch of a Chinese Long March 2C orbital rocket, in low-Earth orbit for sustained, close-range inspection.

Continuum-1 is a Satellogic-built Earth observation satellite that HEO acquired from Satellogic in December 2025. It was designed to image Earth from several hundred kilometers up and carries an Earth-imaging camera and a fuel reserve sized for that job. After completing a three-maneuver sequence, Continuum-1 held position within 30 kilometers of the target during a first proximity period in August, then closed to within 27 kilometers during a second, closer period in late August and early September. HEO reported today that resolution improved from roughly 8 cm per pixel, shared from the first period, to as sharp as 7 cm per pixel during the second.
