The event was created by Friends and has been supported by Georgia Power for the last several years with hundreds of Georgia Power employees helping clean up and beautify their local state parks through the program, primarily through the company's longstanding Citizens of Georgia Power employee volunteering organization.

Georgians are invited to mark their calendars to come roll up their sleeves on September 27, or support the program in other ways by donating to Friends or sharing their favorite state parks memory.
