Sentiment and the balance of points

Rhea-AI Sentiment reads the wording of the document, how positive or negative its language is on a 1 to 5 scale. The balance of points shown with the takes weighs what the document actually discloses, so the two can disagree, for example when a trial that missed its main goal is described in upbeat language.

How this balance works

Rhea-AI gives every point it takes from this document a weight. Minor counts 1, Moderate 3 and Major 9, so one Major point outweighs several Minor ones. The bar adds up the weights on each side, and when neither side holds more than 65% of the total the balance reads Mixed.

It reads the document as published, with the same rules for every company, and it does not look at what the market expected or at how the stock traded, so a point can be objectively good on a day the stock falls.

Rhea-AI Sentiment measures something else, the tone of the wording.

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla., Oct. 13, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Solitron Devices, Inc. (OTC Pink: SODI) (“Solitron” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce fiscal 2027 second quarter results.

FISCAL 2027 SECOND QUARTER HIGHLIGHTS –

  • Net sales increased 42% to approximately $5.66 million in the fiscal 2027 second quarter versus $3.99 million in the fiscal 2026 second quarter.
  • Net bookings increased 48% to $6.42 million in the fiscal 2027 second quarter versus $4.32 million in the prior year second quarter.
  • Backlog increased 29% to $24.11 million at the end of the fiscal 2027 second quarter as compared to $18.64 million at the end of the fiscal 2026 second quarter.
  • Net income was $1.30 million, or $0.60 per share, for the fiscal 2027 second quarter versus net loss of ($.23) million, or ($0.11) per share, for the fiscal 2026 second quarter.

Revenue increased in the fiscal 2027 second quarter to $5.66 million from $5.44 million during the first quarter, due to the Company’s strong backlog. As previously noted in our last press release, we anticipate sales to continue to be at this level or greater for the remainder of the 2027 fiscal year.

In addition, the Company’s backlog continues to remain at record levels. Backlog increased from $23.34 million at the end of fiscal 2027 first quarter to $24.11 million at the end of fiscal 2027 second quarter.

This quarter’s net income was negatively impacted by $200,000 in professional fees recorded to SG&A related to the retention of an investment banker to assist in the company’s exploration of strategic alternatives, as noted in the Company’s fiscal 2027 first quarter press release. Also included in SG&A costs for the fiscal 2027 and 2026 second quarters are $52,000 of intangible amortization.

While the income statement reflects income taxes, no actual income taxes were due as the Company has deferred tax assets related to previous net operating losses.

We continue to be encouraged about the possibility of multi-year orders for components on AMRAAM and Standard Missiles 2, 3 and 6. RTX and the Pentagon announced multi-year agreements in October for both programs. Both agreements require Congressional funding. Our current expectation is for the next AMRAAM order to be received in the fiscal fourth quarter.
