National dairy supplier adds low-cost weekend coverage to drive sales

SALT LAKE CITY--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- ReposiTrak, Inc. (NYSE: TRAK), the leader in retail supply chain, merchandising, compliance and traceability solutions, today announced the launch of a Touchless Retail™ merchandising program in a large American retailer with a national footprint, working with a national dairy CPG supplier to provide supplemental in-store merchandising coverage.

The dairy supplier already maintains its own merchandising workforce, but like many large CPG companies, it cannot always provide the level of store coverage it would like—particularly on weekends and selected weekdays. Through Touchless Retail, ReposiTrak will supplement the supplier’s existing team with additional merchandising resources in the stores and time periods where greater coverage can have the most impact.

The program is built around two core advantages: much lower cost and much higher execution quality.

Touchless Retail provides merchandising at a substantially lower cost than traditional hourly merchandising models while using only the very best merchandisers. The merchandising team maintains a 99%+ show-up/on-time rate and a rework rate of less than 0.5%, providing suppliers with a highly reliable and accountable way to expand in-store coverage.

“This is about giving suppliers a better way to extend their merchandising reach,” said Randy Fields, chairman and CEO of ReposiTrak. “The supplier already has an established team. Touchless Retail allows them to add coverage where they need it most, at a much lower cost, while using proven, top-performing merchandisers who consistently show up and get the job done right.”

ReposiTrak uses store-level demand, inventory and sales data to help identify where supplemental merchandising coverage can have the greatest impact. Additional resources can then be deployed during high-opportunity periods, including weekends and other days when the supplier’s existing team may not have sufficient coverage.

A recent weekend at the large retailer illustrates the opportunity. As a severe storm approached, Friday sales spiked as shoppers stocked up ahead of the weather event. Weekend sales would normally be expected to soften significantly under those conditions, yet sales over the weekend were up 6%. The results underscore the potential value of maintaining strong merchandising coverage during periods when demand patterns can change quickly and traditional staffing may be limited.

The objective is to improve shelf execution, strengthen in-stock conditions and help capture sales that may otherwise be lost when products are not properly stocked, faced or available for shoppers.

Touchless Retail combines ReposiTrak’s DSD technology, perpetual inventory capabilities, demand-driven ordering, out-of-stock visibility and store-level analytics with an elite merchandising workforce. The solution can be deployed as a complete merchandising program or as a flexible extension of an existing supplier field organization.

For suppliers, the value proposition is simple: better coverage, better execution and much lower cost.

The program in the large American retailer further demonstrates how Touchless Retail can support major CPG suppliers that already have established merchandising operations but need a more flexible, cost-effective way to strengthen store-level execution and drive incremental sales.

Key Terms

cpg technical
Consumer packaged goods are everyday items people buy frequently and replace often, such as food, personal care products, and household cleaners. Investors watch CPG businesses because they tend to produce steady, repeatable sales and reveal how well a company keeps customers and controls costs; small shifts in consumer habits, pricing or supply chain costs can quickly affect revenue and profit. Think of a CPG company as a neighborhood store supplying staples—tiny changes in demand or cost ripple across its earnings.
perpetual inventory technical
A perpetual inventory system continuously tracks a company's stock of goods, updating quantities and values after every sale, purchase, or return so the inventory balance is always current. Think of it like a bank account that registers every deposit and withdrawal in real time; for investors, this matters because accurate, up-to-date inventory records affect reported profit margins, cash tied up in stock, and how quickly a business can respond to demand or spot losses, all of which influence valuation and risk assessment.
