Entrada Therapeutics (TRDA) named Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy and Duchenne Parent Project Netherlands as the 2026 recipients of its DREAMS Grant Program, which awards two $50,000 grants to non-profit projects addressing disparities in the Duchenne muscular dystrophy community.

PPMD will use its grant to apply findings from a national Care Landscape Assessment across its Certified Duchenne Care Center network, aiming to improve access to coordinated, multidisciplinary care, particularly for adults and people in rural U.S. communities. Funds will support adult care infrastructure, multilingual resources, provider education and community engagement.

Duchenne Parent Project Netherlands will expand its Duchenne Barrier Breaker early-intervention program, embedding personalized coaching into routine Duchenne care in the Netherlands to promote autonomy, self-confidence and social participation during the transition to adulthood. An independent, multi-country Grant Review Committee of clinicians, advocates and individuals living with Duchenne selected the recipients.

duchenne muscular dystrophy medical
"projects working to better identify, understand and reach members of the Duchenne muscular dystrophy"
A rare, inherited condition that progressively weakens muscles, Duchenne muscular dystrophy causes the body’s muscle fibers to break down over time, often leading to severe disability. For investors, it matters because the small, well-defined patient population, high unmet medical need and complex regulatory and pricing dynamics mean successes or failures in clinical trials, approvals, or therapies can have outsized effects on a company’s valuation and future revenue prospects.
patient-reported outcomes database technical
"The Duchenne Registry, the world’s largest patient-reported outcomes database for Duchenne and Becker"
A patient-reported outcomes database is a collected, organized set of information about symptoms, quality of life, side effects and treatment benefits that patients report directly, usually through surveys, apps or questionnaires. Like a large customer-feedback archive for medical care, it helps companies, regulators and researchers see how treatments affect real people, which can influence clinical decisions, regulatory reviews, reimbursement and commercial prospects that matter to investors.

-- Announced following World Duchenne Awareness Day on September 7, grants are designed to support projects bridging healthcare disparities across the global Duchenne community --

BOSTON, Sept. 10, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Entrada Therapeutics, Inc. (Nasdaq: TRDA) today announced the recipients of its 2026 DREAMS Grant Program: a competitive annual program that awards two $50,000 grants in support of projects working to better identify, understand and reach members of the Duchenne muscular dystrophy community who are currently underrepresented or underserved. An Independent Grant Review Committee, consisting of neuromuscular specialists, patient advocates and health equity advocates, is responsible for reviewing and selecting the grant recipients, and one U.S.-based non-profit and one non-profit in the U.K. or EU is selected.

Entrada DREAMS Grant Recipients

  • Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy (PPMD) is a U.S.-based patient advocacy organization that for more than 30 years has worked to accelerate the development of therapies, strengthen standards of care and advance policies benefiting the Duchenne and Becker muscular dystrophy communities. PPMD also manages The Duchenne Registry, the world’s largest patient-reported outcomes database for Duchenne and Becker. Earlier in 2026, PPMD embarked on a national Care Landscape Assessment through its Certified Duchenne Care Center (CDCC) network to better understand how individuals living with Duchenne access coordinated, multidisciplinary care across the lifespan. The DREAMS Grant will enable PPMD to operationalize learnings from the assessment and take steps to improve outcomes and create scalable models for access to specialized Duchenne care for underserved communities, with a focus on adults and individuals living in rural communities. By investing in adult care infrastructure, multilingual resources, provider education and community engagement, this project will establish lasting resources that continue to improve equitable access over time.
  • Duchenne Parent Project Netherlands is a parent-founded organization committed to improving the lives of people living with Duchenne muscular dystrophy. It supports and funds research into new treatments and a cure, while advocating for better care, support and quality of life. One of its actions is to mobilize scientists, doctors and companies to accelerate research for Duchenne. Funds from the 2026 DREAMS Grant will support further implementation of Duchenne Barrier Breaker (DBB), an innovative early-intervention program designed to promote autonomy, self-confidence and social participation as individuals living with Duchenne transition into adulthood. Knowing that social and environmental factors can influence one’s ability to navigate daily life, Duchenne Parent Project Netherlands will work to ensure equitable access to personalized coaching by embedding the DBB into routine Duchenne care in the Netherlands.

“Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy’s and Duchenne Parent Project Netherlands’ initiatives serve as true models of this year’s World Duchenne Awareness Day theme, ‘access changes lives.’ It’s a privilege to support the efforts of two leading organizations who are working to advance equitable access to specialized support for all individuals living with Duchenne. As this year’s recipients work to bridge healthcare disparities in the U.S. and the Netherlands, I believe the impact of these efforts will extend across borders and shape the delivery of Duchenne care on a global scale,” said Dipal Doshi, Chief Executive Officer at Entrada Therapeutics.

Entrada thanks the 2026 DREAMS Independent Grant Review Committee for their time and dedication to selecting projects with the greatest potential to translate funding into lasting impact. The committee intentionally reflects the diversity and unique perspectives of the global Duchenne community, with members representing three countries and bringing critical expertise as patient advocates, neuromuscular researchers, care specialists and individuals living with Duchenne themselves:

  • Annemieke Aartsma-Rus, PhD, Professor of Translational Genetics, Leiden University Medical Center
  • Yuva Gambhir, Student, University of Pennsylvania, living with Duchenne
  • Enrico Iovene, Student, University of Rome, living with Duchenne
  • Amaris Sánchez-Larragoity, PsyD, Psychologist
  • Aravindhan Veerapandiyan, MD, (Dr. Panda), Associate Professor of Pediatrics, Division of Pediatric Neurology, University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences at Arkansas Children’s Hospital

"It has been a privilege to serve on the Entrada DREAMS Grant Review Committee for the past four years and to witness firsthand the strength and innovation of organizations working to transform the Duchenne community,” said Aravindhan Veerapandiyan, MD, Pediatric Neurologist at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences at Arkansas Children’s Hospital. “The 2026 applicants demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to addressing the unmet needs of the Duchenne community and creating meaningful, lasting change. Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy and Duchenne Parent Project Netherlands are uniquely positioned to improve access to critical resources and care for individuals living with Duchenne that have historically been underserved. I am excited to see how these programs empower individuals and families and help to advance a more equitable future for everyone living with Duchenne.”
