Textron Aviation (NYSE: TXT) announced the Cessna Citation CJ3 Gen2 has received FAA type certification and is expected to enter service in 2025 after completing 445 flight-test hours. The Gen2 adds Garmin G3000 avionics with autothrottle, optional Enhanced Vision System, an extra 4.5 inches of pilot legroom, and a fully customizable luxury cabin with USB-C power at every seat and wireless charging.
The light jet has a maximum range of 2,040 nm, a useful payload of 5,530 pounds, and standard seating for nine passengers (eight optional with extra storage).

Textron Aviation (NYSE: TXT) announced that the Cessna Citation M2 Gen2 with Garmin Autothrottles received FAA certification on October 13, 2025. The program completed nearly 300 flight test hours and multiple certification tests meeting Textron and FAA standards.
The Garmin Autothrottle integration manages engine power and speed, can be enabled at 400 feet above ground, and adds protections to prevent exceedances and alert pilots to deviations.
