computer aided dispatch technical
Computer aided dispatch is a software system that helps emergency services, public safety agencies, and transportation operators receive calls, prioritize incidents, and send the right units quickly — like a central traffic controller that routes help where it’s needed. For investors, it matters because these systems drive efficiency, reduce response times and liability, and represent recurring revenue and upgrade opportunities for vendors selling hardware, software and support services.
cloud-hosted technical
Cloud-hosted means software, data, or services run on remote servers operated by a third party and accessed over the internet, rather than being installed on a company’s own computers. For investors this matters because it changes a business’s cost structure and growth profile—think renting scalable space instead of owning a building—affecting recurring revenue, margins, reliability, upgrade speed, and risks tied to security, vendor dependence, and data-location regulations.
s&p 500 financial
The S&P 500 is a broad stock market index that tracks the performance of 500 large U.S. companies, weighted so bigger firms have a larger impact. Investors use it like a thermometer or benchmark to judge how the overall U.S. stock market or a portfolio is doing; movements in the index influence investor sentiment, fund performance, and many passive investment products that aim to match its returns.

PLANO, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Tyler Technologies, Inc (NYSE: TYL) and the Midland County Central Dispatch Authority (MCCDA) in Michigan have completed the implementation of Tyler’s Enterprise Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) and Enterprise Mobile and Mobility solutions.

MCCDA initiated the CAD replacement process after its previous vendor announced an end of support. The agency selected Tyler to support continuity of operations and to replace its previous CAD system following that announcement. The implementation was completed over a nine-month period. The Tyler solutions are cloud-hosted and support system availability and continuity for daily dispatch operations.

“While we worked quickly to ensure MCCDA could effectively use Tyler’s Enterprise CAD solution without interruption, much care and consideration was taken during the expedited project schedule to ensure a proper and successful deployment,” said Andrew Hittle, president of Tyler’s Public Safety Division. “With Tyler’s solutions in place, we are supporting public safety operations for five local, county, and state law enforcement agencies, twelve fire service departments, and one private EMS provider. Together, these agencies manage more than 75,000 calls for service each year.”

Tyler’s Enterprise Mobile solution supports access to operational information for field personnel and dispatch staff during daily public safety operations.

Established in 1993, the Midland County Central Dispatch Authority is a consolidated public safety answering point responsible for dispatching law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical services for the City of Midland and Midland County. MCCDA serves a population of approximately 85,000 and supports more than 90 sworn law enforcement officers, 20 dispatch professionals, and over 100 fire and EMS end users.
