Valor Gold (VLGDF) announced the death of CEO and director Mark Ashley following a sudden illness and named an interim successor. Alan Edwards, Chairman of the Board, will assume the CEO duties on an interim basis. The Board does not immediately intend to search for a permanent CEO or fill the vacant director position.
Edwards said the company's plans for the foreseeable future are set and its task is to implement the established direction. Valor focuses on advancing the Courageous Lake Gold Project in the Northwest Territories.
Valor Gold (VLGDF) has refined multiple drill targets along the Tundra‑Salmita trend at the Courageous Lake project after a summer core relogging and resampling program, defining five priority areas focused on non‑refractory gold systems.
The initial priority is upgrading the Walsh Lake deposit from inferred to measured and indicated resources. Walsh Lake currently hosts an inferred mineral resource of 4.1 million tonnes grading 4.2 g/t gold for 550 koz over a 1 km strike to about 300 m depth, based on approximately 16,600 m of diamond drilling. Valor anticipates a further 12,000 m of drilling and plans a substantial diamond drill program in early 2027. Additional upside is being pursued through depth and strike extensions at Walsh Lake, the Olsen and Marsh Pond targets, and renewed baseline environmental monitoring at Courageous Lake.
Valor Gold (OTCQB:VLGDF, TSX:VGC) outlined its 2026 exploration and permitting plans for the 100%-owned Courageous Lake Project, ahead of a planned Q1 2027 drill program.
The project hosts measured and indicated resources of 145Mt at 2.36 g/t Au (11.0 Moz) and inferred resources of 41Mt at 2.52 g/t Au (3.3 Moz). A January 2024 PFS outlined 2.8 Moz payable Au over 12 years, with a PEA describing a further 3.7 Moz over 16 years. Work in 2026 will focus on the Tundra-Salmita trend, Walsh Lake infill, analogue targets, and environmental baseline studies to support future permitting.
Valor Gold (OTCQB: VLGDF, TSX: VGC) announced that its common shares began trading on the OTCQB Venture Market in the United States on June 9, 2026. Shares will continue trading on the Toronto Stock Exchange. The OTCQB quotation is described as advancing Valor’s long-term capital markets strategy, enhancing visibility, U.S. investor participation, and trading convenience.
