5 terms
royalty financial
"completed the sale of a capped 4.5% gold royalty payable on 46,372oz"
A royalty is a payment made to the owner of a resource or asset—such as a patent, mineral rights, or creative work—whenever others use or profit from it. For investors, royalties provide a steady stream of income without owning the entire asset, similar to earning a small commission each time a product is sold or a service is used. This makes royalties an important factor in valuing certain types of investments.
streaming financial
"a returns-focused mining royalty and streaming company, is pleased to announce"
Streaming is delivering audio, video, or other data continuously over the internet so users can play it immediately instead of downloading a complete file first — like turning on a faucet to get water on demand. For investors, streaming matters because it creates recurring revenue and usage metrics (subscriptions, ad views, play counts) while also affecting costs and growth potential tied to licensing, bandwidth and user engagement.
return on invested capital financial
"crystallizing a 16x return on invested capital over a holding period"
A percentage that shows how effectively a company turns the money invested in its business—both borrowed funds and shareholders’ equity—into operating profit after taxes. It tells investors whether a company earns more from its core operations than it costs to fund those operations; think of it like the annual return you’d expect from renovating a rental property—higher percentages mean the company uses capital more efficiently and is more likely to create value for shareholders.
ni 43-101 regulatory
"a "Qualified Person" under NI 43-101, has reviewed and approved"
A Canadian regulatory standard that sets the rules for how mining and exploration companies must report mineral resources and reserves, requiring technical reports prepared or signed off by an independent, certified expert. It matters to investors because it creates a consistent, transparent “inspection report” for mining projects, making it easier to compare prospects, judge the reliability of claims, and assess geological and financial risk before investing.
qualified person regulatory
"a "Qualified Person" under NI 43-101, has reviewed and approved"
A qualified person is someone with specialized knowledge, experience, and training in a particular field, allowing them to accurately assess and verify information or work. Their expertise helps ensure that reports, evaluations, or decisions are trustworthy and meet required standards. For investors, a qualified person provides confidence that the information they rely on is credible and properly validated.
