Sentiment and the balance of points

Rhea-AI Sentiment reads the wording of the document, how positive or negative its language is on a 1 to 5 scale. The balance of points shown with the takes weighs what the document actually discloses, so the two can disagree, for example when a trial that missed its main goal is described in upbeat language.

Virax Biolabs (NASDAQ: VRAX) has signed three non-exclusive distribution agreements to expand sales channels for ImmuneSelect research products in mainland China.

Through its Shanghai subsidiary, Virax appointed AmyJet Scientific, Jiangsu Real-Gen Biotechnology and Zhixi (Shanghai) Biotechnology. The agreements cover specified customer segments across Beijing, Shanghai, Hubei, Jiangsu, Anhui and Shandong. Distributors will purchase products from Virax for resale. The appointments build on initial mainland China sales and complement an existing exclusive supply agreement with Fosun Diagnostics across six Southeast Asian markets. ImmuneSelect is a commercially available research-use-only portfolio, distinct from the in-development ViraxImmune diagnostic platform.

How this balance works

Rhea-AI gives every point it takes from this document a weight. Minor counts 1, Moderate 3 and Major 9, so one Major point outweighs several Minor ones. The bar adds up the weights on each side, and when neither side holds more than 65% of the total the balance reads Mixed.

It reads the document as published, with the same rules for every company, and it does not look at what the market expected or at how the stock traded, so a point can be objectively good on a day the stock falls.

Rhea-AI Sentiment measures something else, the tone of the wording.

Key Terms

research-use-only, elisPot, in vitro diagnostic
3 terms
research-use-only medical
"commercially available research-use-only ("RUO") immune profiling portfolio"
Products labeled “research-use-only” are tools, tests, or reagents sold for laboratory experiments and scientific study, not approved for diagnosing, treating, or making clinical decisions about patients. For investors, the label matters because it limits where and how a product can be sold, keeps regulatory burdens lower but also narrows market size and revenue potential until the product is validated and approved for clinical or commercial use — like a prototype that can’t yet be sold in stores.
elisPot medical
"ELISpot assay plates and antigen-specific peptide pools"
ELISpot is a laboratory test that counts individual immune cells that produce a specific signaling molecule—like counting how many workers in a factory are actively making a product. It matters to investors because it provides direct, early evidence about whether a vaccine or immune therapy is triggering the intended response, helping predict clinical trial progress, regulatory likelihood, and the commercial potential of treatments.
in vitro diagnostic medical
"developing in vitro diagnostic technologies for viral and immune-mediated diseases"
In vitro diagnostics are tests, instruments and kits used to analyze samples taken from the body—such as blood, urine or swabs—outside the body (in a lab or cartridge) to detect disease, infections, genetic traits or other biological signs. Investors care because these products generate sales, recurring revenue from consumable test kits, and value that hinges on test accuracy, regulatory approvals and reimbursement policies; like a home pregnancy test but for many medical conditions.

Three new distributor agreements build on initial China sales and extend the Company's distributor-led commercial strategy

LONDON, Oct. 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Virax Biolabs Group Limited (NASDAQ: VRAX) ("Virax" or the "Company") today announced that, through its China subsidiary, Shanghai Xitu Consulting Co., Ltd., it has entered into non-exclusive distribution agreements with AmyJet Scientific Inc., Jiangsu Real-Gen Biotechnology Co., Ltd., and Zhixi (Shanghai) Biotechnology Co., Ltd. for its ImmuneSelect research-use immune profiling products.

Logo

ImmuneSelect is Virax's commercially available research-use-only ("RUO") immune profiling portfolio and is distinct from ViraxImmune™, the Company's in-development diagnostic platform. The appointments build on initial ImmuneSelect product sales from Virax's existing mainland China operations and complement its previously announced exclusive commercial supply agreement with Fosun Diagnostics across six Southeast Asian markets.

Under the agreements, the distributors will purchase ImmuneSelect products from Virax for resale within their respective authorised markets and customer segments. The distributors will manage local sales, customer engagement and customer training on product use and storage, with Virax providing product supply, documentation and technical support.

The agreements establish non-exclusive distribution channels for specified customer segments across Beijing, Shanghai, Hubei, Jiangsu, Anhui and Shandong. These territories include major Chinese biotechnology centres such as Beijing's Zhongguancun Life Science Park, Shanghai's Zhangjiang Pharma Valley, Suzhou's BioBAY and Wuhan's BioLake. Suzhou Industrial Park reports that BioBAY alone hosts more than 600 biomedical enterprises, illustrating the scale of one of the research markets Virax intends to address.

KEY HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Three non-exclusive appointments create distribution routes to specified research customers across six mainland Chinese markets, including major biotech centres in Beijing, Shanghai, Suzhou and Wuhan.
  • AmyJet, which reports more than 200 international life sciences supplier relationships and already offers ELISpot and other immunology research reagents, will target industrial and biotechnology customers in Beijing, Shanghai and Hubei.
  • Jiangsu Real-Gen, with a regional presence in Suzhou, Nanjing, Hefei and Jinan, will target academic, biopharmaceutical and other research customers in Jiangsu, Anhui and Shandong.
  • Zhixi adds a targeted Shanghai academic sales channel, supported by the research-reagent trading experience of its common ownership with Shanghai KEL Biotech.
  • The initial product focus is ELISpot assay plates and antigen-specific peptide pools for infectious disease, vaccine and cellular immunity research.
  • Local distribution supports commercial expansion while limiting the need to build a larger direct sales organisation.

"China represents an important opportunity for ImmuneSelect, with substantial biotechnology and academic research activity in cellular immunology, vaccine development and infectious diseases," said James Foster, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Virax Biolabs. "These appointments allow us to reach prospective customers through established local distribution networks, with the objective of converting product evaluations into orders and building recurring reagent sales. Importantly, we can pursue that opportunity while maintaining a disciplined, capital-efficient commercial model."
