Material Information regulatory
"informing as Material Information that Banco de Chile placed certain bonds"
Material information is any fact or development that a reasonable investor would likely consider important when deciding whether to buy, sell or hold a stock—like a new product that could change a company’s prospects or a hidden debt that could hurt its finances. It matters because timely, accurate disclosure of such facts helps ensure fair prices and prevents surprises that can sharply move a stock; think of it as information that can tip the scale in an investment decision.
dematerialized financial
"placement in the local market of senior, dematerialized and bearer bonds"
Dematerialized describes the conversion of paper share certificates or other ownership documents into electronic records held by a central registry or broker. Like replacing a paper deed with a secure online file, it makes buying, selling and transferring ownership faster, cheaper and less prone to loss or forgery, which affects liquidity, settlement speed and the ease with which investors can trade or track their holdings.
