Sentiment and the balance of points

Rhea-AI Sentiment reads the wording of the document, how positive or negative its language is on a 1 to 5 scale. The balance of points shown with the takes weighs what the document actually discloses, so the two can disagree, for example when a trial that missed its main goal is described in upbeat language.

How this balance works

Rhea-AI gives every point it takes from this document a weight. Minor counts 1, Moderate 3 and Major 9, so one Major point outweighs several Minor ones. The bar adds up the weights on each side, and when neither side holds more than 65% of the total the balance reads Mixed.

It reads the document as published, with the same rules for every company, and it does not look at what the market expected or at how the stock traded, so a point can be objectively good on a day the stock falls.

Rhea-AI Sentiment measures something else, the tone of the wording.

Adjusted EBITDA financial
"Adjusted EBITDA attributable to Century for the third quarter of 2026"
Adjusted EBITDA is a way companies measure how much money they make from their core operations, like running a business, by removing certain costs or income that aren’t part of regular business activities. It helps investors see how well a company is doing without distractions from unusual expenses or gains, making it easier to compare companies or track performance over time.
non-GAAP financial measures financial
"adjusted EBITDA are non-GAAP financial measures"
Non-GAAP financial measures are numbers companies use to show their financial performance that exclude certain expenses or income. They help investors see how the company might perform without one-time costs or other unusual items, giving a different perspective from official reports. However, since they can be adjusted, they don’t always tell the full story and should be looked at alongside standard financial figures.
restricted cash financial
"cash and cash equivalents of $713.0 million, restricted cash of $41.6 million"
Cash that a company holds but cannot use for day-to-day operations because it is set aside for a specific purpose—such as meeting loan covenants, serving as collateral, funding an escrow, or complying with regulations. Like money in a locked savings account earmarked for a bill, restricted cash reduces the cash available to run the business and pay dividends or debts, so investors treat it differently when assessing a company’s true short-term financial strength.
Net cash provided by operating activities financial
"Net cash provided by operating activities"
Cash a company actually generates from its regular business activities during a reporting period, after accounting for day-to-day receipts and payments and excluding one-time financing or investing moves. Think of it as the cash left over from running a store each month after paying suppliers, wages and handling changes in inventory and customer payments, not counting loans or asset sales. Investors use it to judge whether the business can fund operations, pay debts and grow without relying on outside cash.

Notes:
(1) Non-GAAP measure; see reconciliation of GAAP to non-GAAP financial measures.
Net sales for the third quarter ended September 30, 2026 increased by $209.1 million sequentially primarily driven by higher shipments attributable to the restart of Line 2 at the Grundartangi, Iceland facility returning to near full production during the quarter and favorable realized metal prices.
Century reported Net income attributable to Century of $302.6 million for the third quarter of 2026, a $53.3 million increase sequentially. The increase in net earnings during the third quarter of 2026 was primarily attributable to higher shipments resulting from the restart of line 2 at Grundartangi and favorable realized metal prices, partially offset by a lower gain on insurance proceeds related to Iceland equipment failure and unfavorable power price realization due to extreme hot weather in the third quarter.
Third quarter results were also impacted by $31.0 million of net exceptional items, in particular, $34.5 million of unrealized gains on derivative instruments, net of tax and a $12.7 million gain on insurance proceeds, net of tax, partially offset by $15.1 million related to equipment failures in Iceland, net of tax. Therefore, Century reported an Adjusted net income attributable to Century of $271.6 million for the third quarter of 2026, a $14.3 million increase sequentially.
Adjusted EBITDA attributable to Century for the third quarter of 2026 was $331.6 million. This was an increase of $4.7 million from the prior quarter, mainly from favorable sales volume and mix and realized metal prices, offset by higher operating expenses and unfavorable power price realization.
Century's liquidity position at September 30, 2026 was $1,161.5 million, comprised of cash and cash equivalents of $713.0 million, restricted cash of $41.6 million, and $406.9 million in combined borrowing availability.
Fourth Quarter 2026 Outlook
The Company expects fourth quarter Adjusted EBITDA to range between $275 to $300 million.

Non-GAAP Financial Measures
Adjusted net income (loss), adjusted earnings (loss) per share and adjusted EBITDA are non-GAAP financial measures that management uses to evaluate Century's financial performance. These non-GAAP financial measures facilitate comparisons of this period’s results with prior periods on a consistent basis by excluding items that management does not believe are indicative of Century’s ongoing operating performance and ability to generate cash. Management believes these non-GAAP financial measures enhance an overall understanding of Century’s performance and our investors’ ability to review Century’s business from the same perspective as management. The tables below, under the heading "Reconciliation of Non-GAAP Financial Measures," provide a reconciliation of each non-GAAP financial measure to the most directly comparable GAAP financial measure. Non-GAAP financial measures should be viewed in addition to, and not as an alternative for, Century's reported results prepared in accordance with GAAP. In addition, because not all companies use identical calculations, adjusted net income (loss), adjusted earnings (loss) per share and adjusted EBITDA included in this press release may not be comparable to similarly titled measures of other companies. Investors are encouraged to review the reconciliations in conjunction with the presentation of these non-GAAP financial measures. We do not provide a reconciliation of forward-looking Adjusted EBITDA because the corresponding forward-looking GAAP financial measures is not currently available and management cannot reliably predict all the necessary components of such forward-looking GAAP measures without unreasonable effort or expense due to the inherent difficulty of forecasting and quantifying certain amounts that are necessary for such a reconciliation, including adjustments that could be made for restructuring, the variability of our tax rate, the impact of foreign currency fluctuation, and other charges reflected in our historical results. The probable significance of each of these items is high and, based on historical experience, could be material.
