Filing Explained

The filing adds legal disclosure context: the project approval announcement is furnished under Item 7.01, not treated as a filed Section 18 statement.

The 2026-09-22 Form 8-K furnishes the company’s announcement that Forest Service approval and the 2026 annual plan authorize drilling and related work to begin; the Item 7.01 announcement is furnished rather than filed.

The exhibit reports that on 2026-09-09 the Forest Service accepted the signed evaluation form, incorporated required changes and mitigations, and accepted the reclamation surety bond.

The company also reported providing documentation showing that the other permits necessary for the project were in place and in good standing.

The release identifies drill-rig and contractor availability, weather, the permitted operating season, permitting, and project financing as uncertainties affecting the planned 2026 and 2027 programs.

Patented mining claims 6 claims Number of patented mining claims in the CuMo project
Exploration Plan of Operations regulatory
"approving the Company’s Exploration Plan of Operations (“PoO”) and its 2026 annual operating plan"
A documented roadmap for planned subsurface discovery work that lays out what areas will be tested, how teams will operate, what equipment and methods will be used, expected timelines, safety and environmental controls, and estimated costs. Like a travel itinerary for a field expedition, it matters to investors because it shows how serious and organized the effort is, reveals likely spending and regulatory hurdles, and helps estimate the chances and timing of any economic discovery.
reclamation surety bond regulatory
"and has accepted the Company’s reclamation surety bond."
A reclamation surety bond is a contract issued by a surety company that guarantees funds will be available to restore land and remediate environmental damage after industrial activities like mining, drilling, or construction. It matters to investors because it shifts the financial risk of cleanup from the government and taxpayers to a guaranteed source, making a company’s potential environmental liabilities more predictable and protecting the value of investments in the event the operator cannot complete reclamation.
Decision Notice and Finding of No Significant Impact regulatory
"follows the Decision Notice and Finding of No Significant Impact issued by the USFS"
Environmental Assessment regulatory
"issued by the USFS on March 14, 2025 under an Environmental Assessment"
An environmental assessment is a process that evaluates how a project or activity might impact the natural surroundings, such as air, water, land, and wildlife. It helps identify potential environmental risks and ensures that any negative effects are managed or minimized. For investors, this assessment provides insight into the sustainability and long-term viability of projects, which can influence their financial decisions and risk management.
Prefeasibility Study technical
"campaign in 2027 aimed at completing the drilling needed for a Prefeasibility Study."
A prefeasibility study is an early, high-level assessment that tests whether a proposed project is likely to be technically workable and economically viable before committing large resources. Like a rough blueprint and budget for a construction project, it provides preliminary estimates of costs, potential returns, key risks and data gaps so investors can decide whether to proceed to more detailed studies or funding.
critical minerals technical
"Idaho Copper Corporation ... is a critical minerals developer"
Materials needed to build modern technologies—like batteries, electronics, renewable energy systems and defense equipment—that have few easy substitutes and often come from a small number of countries or mines. Investors care because their supply can be disrupted, expensive or slow to increase, which affects the cost, availability and growth prospects of companies and industries that rely on them; think of them as critical spare parts for the global economy.

Idaho Copper Receives U.S. Forest Service Approval to Commence Drilling at Flagship CuMo Copper-Molybdenum Project

Approved Exploration Plan of Operations and 2026 Annual Operating Plan Clear the Way for Drilling; Company Targeting Up to 15,000 Feet of Additional Diamond Core Drilling This Season

BOISE, Idaho – September 22, 2026 – Idaho Copper Corporation (NYSE American: COPR) (“Idaho Copper” or the “Company”), a critical minerals developer advancing the flagship CuMo copper-molybdenum-silver project in Idaho, today announced that the U.S. Forest Service, Boise National Forest (“USFS”) sent a letter approving the Company’s Exploration Plan of Operations (“PoO”) and its 2026 annual operating plan for exploration at the CuMo project in Boise County, Idaho, clearing the way for drilling and roadbuilding and maintenance activities to commence.

On September 9, 2026, the USFS accepted the Company’s signed Forest Service Evaluation form and incorporated all required changes, modifications and mitigations into the approved PoO, and has accepted the Company’s reclamation surety bond. The letter further notes that the Company has provided documentation showing that all other permits necessary for the project are in place and in good standing. The USFS also approved the Company’s 2026 annual operating plan, which was reviewed and field verified by agency staff. The approved PoO is effective for six years from the first day of operations, inclusive of final reclamation.

The approval follows the Decision Notice and Finding of No Significant Impact issued by the USFS on March 14, 2025 under an Environmental Assessment, which completed the federal environmental review of the CuMo exploration plan. The September 9 letter satisfies the remaining administrative conditions to that decision and authorizes the Company to begin work.

Management Commentary

“Approval of our Exploration Plan of Operations and our 2026 annual operating plan is the culmination of a decade of work with the Forest Service, and it is the milestone that should turn CuMo from a concept into an active drill program,” said Andrew Brodkey, Chief Executive Officer of Idaho Copper. “We have an approved plan, an accepted reclamation bond, and the other permits this project requires. In a country where federal permitting is often the single largest obstacle impeding advancement of a critical minerals deposit, that is a meaningful achievement.”

“Our priority for the balance of this season is infill drilling that tightens confidence in the existing deposit, and we plan to carry that work into a substantially larger campaign in 2027 aimed at completing the drilling needed for a Prefeasibility Study. Every foot we drill from here will be directed at advancing CuMo toward a development decision, and at doing so under the environmental commitments we have made to the Forest Service and to the communities around this project,” concluded Brodkey.
